The guys working, trying to help young talent develope. Nothing wrong with that.

He helped one team win a SB, and helped us get 1 game away, twice. He developed an attitude playing for a fat dick who only cared about his defense.

Nothing wrong with it, it's just kind of...odd. It'd be like a former heavyweight champ boxer going back to being a sparring partner for young up-and-comers, it doesn't happen.

Tone was just looking for a group of guys he could still compete against. The Spain league was full.

I get the comparison, but he was nowhere near that level. He surpassed 1,000 yards in his career once, and topped out at a high of 746 yards with the Jets in 4 years. Good pickup at the time and I'll never forget those game winning slants to beat Detroit, Cleveland and Houston in 2010 (I think Houston's was a wheel if I remember correctly).

Unfortunately, my lasting memory of him will be pouting on the bench in 2012 like a bitch after fighting with teammates in the huddle and on the sidelines as he was kept catch-less and a year into a $45 million extension.

bullshit, he always had a piss attitude, which is why Pitt ditched him to begin with..

Rex was the much bigger reason for winning playoff games than that malcontent Holmes.

Looks like he's trying to work his way into the league as a WR coach or something.

Never too late to grow up. Or should that be , better late than never.

Is it more odd than a young SB coach, doing a QB camp or TV?

Holmes had issues, but he did well for us.

I think this QB camp is the NFL version of dancing with the has beens.

He made some gigantic plays for us now. The biggest. Holmes could play and he made some plays in his time

He was fine until the team started to go south....Then he didn't handle things, and people, well. But he wasn't, and he's not now, a bad guy imo.

Good move by Rex naming him Captain ...Lol. WTF was he thinking?

Holmes was an ok Jet right up to the point where Tanny f'ed up and signed him over Edwards. I prefer to forget everything about him after that and just recall the good stuff. Thanks Tanny!

We currently have two WR on the roster better than Holmes ever was and neither of them is making 10 mil a year. How Tannenbaum managed to get another gig in this league is astounding.

To be fair Holmes was a MVP in a Super Bowl, that's pretty much being at the top of the mountain. But yeah he never really fulfilled his early-career promise on the whole or lived up to his early-Jet run post-contract.

It was obviously meant to be a jab... hence the thread title.

At the time, I felt like we should have kept Edwards who was cheaper and wanted to be here and performed well over holmes.
