I've always played in 3 different leagues, with the lone exception of one season in which I bumped my teams up to 4. That's about as much time as I cared to put in. I don't read magazines. I don't religiously follow columns. I use my own knowledge and observations, and I do well in some competitive leagues. I know some people join more leagues than that; I know others who pay a lot of money to have the best insider access to fantasy knowledge. My question is, when does it become too much? How many teams does it take to make you realize that you have a fantasy problem?
Yes. I was thinking that 11 is definitely the sign of a serious addiction. Who the fuck would play in 11 different leagues?
If you want to classify it as a problem, then I say 5, but if I wasn't married with kids, then I'd probably be paying money for fantasy advice and playing in as many leagues as I could get in and writing my own fantasy advice column daily. But then I'd probably also be blogging practice reports, coaching HS football, and doing everything else football related I could think of. I like football.
I'M in 4 this year for the first time. You kind of have to prioritize. Money league first than the rest.
Are you talking about my posts here or my Bleacher Report articles? Articles have been hit and miss week to week, so I understand the critique, but my advice here has been on trades focusing my advice on season projections, which can't really be critiqued until the end of the season.
I like having just one, makes it easier to root for players. Just like during March Madness, I make one bracket and follow it.
I wonder if we could get the perspective of someone on here who plays in, say, 11 leagues. That kind of person would have to be certifiably insane. I wonder if such a person posts on the board.
