I'll be in NYC from April 24th until that Sunday. I'm calling Leon to see if he is going to be in NYC. If so, I'll see if he's going to do what Tiki Barber did the last year at the theatre and show up in person to give autographs and minge with the crowd.
I like to watch from home so you can get a lot of back and forth from the various media and Internet views.
Went when we drafted D'Brick. Had a good time, but probably won't be going anymore. Mostly because I live in Maryland. I love it being in NYC all the time, but I do think the NFL should adapt a moving schedule to give all fans a chance to attend without having to go to New York.
would love to go, but i live in tampa, im sure if the pick is mcfadden or gholston the place will erupt in joy
i think they held it in miami once but no one showed up. they had to bring in homless ppl to fill the seats just so they could broadcast it.
lol, i believe it, them fags down there cant even sell out a season opener [vs the mets this year] or can they sell out a playoff game, football or baseball
I went for Tag's last draft as commisioner along with Brick and Mangold picks. It is a fun experience...but it is pretty close to the same thing as watching it on TV.
There was a 2-3 year period where my buddy and I would go to NYC on draft day. Everytime we'd see the ridiculous crowd of people outside of the venue and immediately turned the corner to go to ESPN zone..which was a version of ellis island in its own right. Too much hustling on/off trains, fighting crowds, andother unneeded stress for something that is just as enjoyable at a local bar or at home w/ some pizza, wings and a 12 pack.
Anyone know of any draft day bar parties in Maryland? I am willing to travel to lower PA or Delaware if so. If not its me, the dog, and a good amount of Sammy Adams at the homestead with a banned from talking wifey.
In my opinion, the best draft in terms of excitement and fun, hands down was the Keyshawn Johnson draft. To me, that draft was like a rock concert. That statement says a lot, because up until '05, I had gone to 14 straight drafts with my first one being when Russell Maryland went #1 overall because Rocket Ismial went to Canada.
That was the first draft i watched from beginning to end, and what got my hooked on the last weekend in april for life. That was def. a big party...even at home for a 14 year old. I still remember Keyshawn rolling his arm in triumph as a sea of green chanted " Keyshawn! Keyshawn!"
i to remember that draft vividly, i aculy flew up to go to the draft, but people told me i needed a ticket and that i would have to slumber outside of msg all night so i didnt go, i watched it at my cousins in flushing, i remember that crowd was ruckus, keyshawn, keyshawn, keyshawn, to bad he had to bad talk us when he went to tampa
im trying to go this year...does anybody have information on how to get tickets you will see me wearing my david harris jersey that im getting in the mail tomorrow at noon
I'll be in NYC on Thursday, and I'm also going to the luncheon at Chelsea pier to meet up with this years crop of invitees.
Can any of you guys who have been tell me how late I can go and make it in? 6am too late? Also what can we bring in? Laptops allowed? Hopefully could find a wireless network and could keep up with pick info.
I always wanted to go but last two years I ended up in ESPN Zone mainly because i got there at like 7am and the tickets where long gone.
I'll be going to the Jets party at D&B. Went last year and met Mangold, D'Brick, Leon Washington, and a few others...had a good time.
Did you go to the one in Manhattan? Cause me and my old man plan on going to the one in Farmingdale. So do any of the players come here or just go to NYC. Do I have to go early to get a free t-shirt?
