If Robertson has another disappointing season next year, would anyone be against cutting him? IMO, he's been a total bust to this point, given the position he was drafted.

your to far off onthe bust part. if he has a bad year this year he will probably beforced to restructure. but then again he may just shine in mangini system

Everyone was saying he was a bust his rookie season then he had a great sophmore year and everyone had him in the hall. Give the guy a break the entire defense had a down year. Ellis was terrible you want to cut him too. We could go through the entire defense even Vilma had a down year from the previous season. Sure he made tackles but he didn't make the big plays that he did the year before. The defense more than anything has to be on the same page. Once they get things together this year everyone will start playing better.

i would, theres still no NT in place.......he needs someone to take double teams so he can run rampid on the 1 on 1's like when Ferguson was here. if we find and commit to a decent NT than Robertons will only get better.

Were keepin him and anyone who thinks hes a bust could go to hell. Hes a domintatin player who just had a down year along with the rest of the Defense except Vilma.

I don't think he's a bust just yet.. but he is FAR from dominating.

well i hope we find an enormous NT to take on double-teams so Robertson will flourish because he's not getting any younger and his knee isn't getting any better.

    cheers

He was really effected by the loss of Ferguson/subpar play of Reed. He needs some help next to him. He was great in 2004, he should be able to reach that level again, but he'll need some help at the other DT spot.

I'm not gonna say DRob is a bust however, he's not the "baby Sapp" Herm made him out to be. He doesn't have forever to shine either. I would imagine his shelf life right now is around 2 seasons tops.

Given the transitional period and his 3rd DC in 3 years? Give the man a pass however, he doesn't get a lifetime to become dominant. His contract will preclude him getting cut but I'm curious as to what Mangini and Sutton's mindset will be after the season.

He already just restructured last week. So restructuring after this year is probably not going to happen.

As far as dominating, I don't think so. He was okay when surrounded by Abe, Ellis and Ferguson. He is a bust when you consider what he has cost financially. Had he been drafted in round 2, he would be just fine, but to get picked in the first and handed what, $6M a year without a game played? He has definitely not lived up to expectations.

You can tell me to go to hell, but I'm a Jets fan, so it's pretty much redundant.

As far as DRob playing here, don't expect to see him much longer unless he can convert to end after Abe's departure. He is no NT in a 3-4. Just another reason why I don't to trade Abraham. It's like losing two first rounders.
