With the off-season in full non-swing, I thought I'd revive this old topic. I know KOZ had a thread about this before but I've modified the poll slightly. So, how do you usually watch Jets games during the regular season?
Sitting down. Standing up cursing. Sitting down. Standing up, throwing my arms up yelling "COME ON!!!". Sitting down. Standing up yelling "What the f@!K!!!". Sitting down. Standing up yelling "what an idiot. 3 runs in a row!". Sitting down. Drunk by end of game.
After ten straight years of season tickets I will be out of the country for this upcoming football season. Thank the football gods for slingbox.
DVR and even moreso this year than last. With 2 kids there's even less time on the weekend than before. Plus, nothing gives me greater satisfaction than fast-forwarding through pointless commercials and female sideline reporters. 3 hour game is done in under an hour and a half. The only bummer is trying to stay off the sports radar until it's time to watch the game.
Direct TV is the only way for me. Being in the military and moving all the time. The wife and I used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, then after spending almost $100 every weekend got the Sunday Ticket and have not looked back.
Mostly live, but I did DVR a couple of games last year. Downside is if you run into somebody who tells you the score or outcome before you see the recording. Upside is you buzz through all the commercials, can watch the game in something just over an hour.
I watch every game live on TV, but I try to attend at least one each year. It's not so much a hassle getting to the Meadowlands for me, it's getting the fuck out that's annoying as hell.
I DVR'd every game last season and plan to do the same this season. That way i can make a fair analysis of the games. prevents me from talking out my arse.
Mostly live-tv. I only DVR if there's something that would have me sleeping on the street if I missed it. I hate it though, because there's always some douche ready to ruin it for me. I attend when my brother scores tix. I didn't make any last year, but for the past few years before that, I'd hit a couple each season. There's no experience like being there, but the view on tv is obviously better. I get more drunk when I attend though, so it's far easier to suffer through.
Live on TV. Taping, edit out the commercials, and go back through for post game analysis later in the week. (And in the Off season...)
Disagree, there is no better view for a football game than watching live at the stadium, especially the Meadowlands where every seat is a good seat.
I'll agree that the Meadowlands is a great place to see a game. There really aren't any bad seats (though I've never been stuck behind a pole, so I don't know about there). I do prefer watching at home though. Especially with DVR, where I can pause and rewind at-will. There's no doubt nothing beats the total experience of being at the game though.
