I love this guy. I see him in most mocks in Round 2. I think if we dont take Cooper in round 1 by either finding a better prospect at 6 or he is taken already or we trade back i think we should get Jaelen Strong. A true outside the numbers type WR. A huge redzone threat that we have needed. It fits perfectly imo and we can take an OLB or Trade back with 1st rd pick and pick up more 1st rounders
He's a first round talent for sure, I have him has the third overall receiver in the class behind Cooper and Parker. He's a solid route runner, has awesome hands. He's a guy I don't see being a selfish guy, he can block if you need him too. A great compliment to Decker. Doesn't have burner speed but he can create separation with his size.
I like what I've seen. It looks like he does most of his damage outside the numbers, which is where the Jets need a reliable option. He would be trade back option for me in the first round.
I think he is the "odell beckham Jr" of this years draft. not as a player comparrisson but in the sense that he will probably be the third WR taken after two over-hyped (although really good) WRs (watkins/evans) and then play so well that its hard to tell which one was actually the number 1 WR.
Not sure if any of you caught the Arizona State bowl game, but Strong dominated. Guy is a physical beast and lives up to his last name. He's my 2nd favorite WR and he's like Mike Evans IMO. Though, I believe Evans was a better overall prospect.
Something to consider, although highly unlikely. We put a first round tender on Harrison, Cleveland having two firsts and a need on the DL give up a first for him. With our 6 overall pick we take the best OL available then with the other first take a Strong or Parker. Would be a huge win for us. I like Harrison a lot but we have a lot of DL talent and is easily our best position for talent and depth.
If I'm the Jets, I am very interested in both of Cleveland's first round picks. I would trade down if I could and grab those 2 picks. La'el Collins (LSU), Strong / Parker
This would be a great way to start the draft. Collins destroyed defenders this year for LSU and can start right away at guard or tackle.
You are referring to Landon Collins (SS) from Alabama, we are referring to La'el Collins (OT) from LSU. He's not a FS btw.
Oh, lol. I didn't even read the last few words when you said guard or tackle. I wouldn't mind him or Scherff.
Who would you think Cleveland would be targeting to give up two firsts? The only guy that looks like he could be worth it would be Cooper to me... none of the pass rushers in this draft seem to be worth moving up for IMO. Cleveland needs QB (but can't possibly draft one... especially from a questionable system), WR, TE, OLB and depth on the lines.
I haven't seen a ton of him yet but he isn't really explosive. Watching him in and out of his breaks it's hard for me to see how he gets open at the NFL level. However, I had similar concerns about Benjamin and Evans last year and look how they turned out. I don't think he positions his body as well as those two guys, though. Not saying he won't be good, but he's not on par with Parker let alone Cooper for me. This is a relatively weak draft in the first round IMO so I don't think he's not worth a first, but I also don't think he's anything special. But again, that's off limited data.
I'm thinking one of the pass-rushers. Depends who is on the clock. You guys def need WR help, another pass-rusher couldn't hurt.
he's a beast and so is their RB, DJ Foster. Great pass catching back; we should target him in the second or third round along with Oregon's Byron Marshall if he leaves. Nvm Foster is coming back
