Moss and Harvey i think are there names and WoW did they do a number on those OSU tackles. Both i believe are JR.'s but i think now that they won the national championship they might come out, Moss seems to be better fit since he seems capable of being one of those hybrid DE/LB's....... -Heres some info on Moss http://statesman.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=9192 http://www.gatorzone.com/football/bios.php?year=2006&player_id=66 -And here is some on Harvey http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=682585 http://www.gatorzone.com/football/bios.php?year=2006&player_id=34
They're both way too small to be 3-4 defensive ends. You gotta be 290+ and really more like 300+ to play the end well in a 3-4. LB is another story.
i think with the speed that moss possesses(4.48 40) he is capable of being one of those merriman/ware OLBs that can juss take over a game with there pass rush ability, and having another OLB with those skill sets would complement bryan thomas and giv us a very strong pass rush. Also it would allow us to move hobson inside a position most think he would be better at and let barton go, considering he is supposedly either goin to have to take a pay cut or is going to be cut.
I'd definetly take a look at one of them to play OLB. Probably Harvey over Moss so we can take him in a year or two and see how he develops in the college game now that the spotlight is going to be on him. We can take our time with the D-Line now and work on the LB corps next year after we can get a better idea of how Hobson and Barton will work out long term.
Harvey is a first year starter this year, so he should be a top pick next year assuming that he can get stronger, and assuming he comes out. If you're looking for a 3-4 defensive end, look no farther then Ray McDonald. Almost everyone along the Florida defensive line can play defensive end, since they are free to sub in whenever they want. McDonald has experience at both defensive end and defensive tackle, but he's not much of a passrusher so 3-4 defense end is really his only place in the NFL. Very emotional player, similar to Ellis, and a great leader. You can't imagine how bummed he looked when he thought his season was over vs. Arkansas.
I hope Gaines Adams is still sitting there when we pick in the first. Pressure opposing QBs in the base defense, not having to blitz in order to get that pressure, and we will go a long way towards a championship run.
Hiker, that would be the ultimate pick. Unless he gets arrested or does something foul, hell be a top 15 pick.
