I find that stat a bit puzzling. They've been facing each other every pre-season for ages, yet can't pull off one victory in ten regular season contests? Something is amiss...
It's just random. Weird stuff happens when we play the Eagles. I still remember the 2 turnover game by Santonio Holmes when we got routed in 2011. Fumble and an "oops, here you can have it" interception. Game went over in a hurry after that. The way a Jets HC should approach the Eagles game is to spend the whole week tearing down his players in the meeting room, at practice, in the lunch room, etc. Just continually tell them they're going to look like fools on Sunday and do things they didn't believe possible and lose badly. Then when the Jets are ravening like junkyard dogs with nothing to lose on Sunday we might finally beat them.
The Jets will beat the Eagles in the Superbowl and no one will give a hoot about our crummy record with them.
Really hard to do. I wouldn't be surprised if we are the only example of that happening if you exclude newer teams like Texans, Ravens, Jags, Panthers (in either column). there always happens to be flukey weird shit when we play them. like yesterday. what's sad is that the best chance so far we had at beating them might've been 1996 when we finished 1-15 and held a 20-7 4th quarter lead over the 10-6 Eagles only to give up 2 late TDs and lose 21-20
Maybe the worse loss was when Cunningham broke his leg & the Iggles trotted in Brister who beat us @ the M/lands
To answer the OP's question, we are 0-10* against the Eagles because we have never scored more points than them in a game where we played each other. The "0" represents are never having won we play them. The "10" represents the ten times we have lost when playing them in our history. *Does not include pre-season games.
Why? The facts are in those 10regular season games the Iggles out scored us in each & every one of those games thus our overall record vs the Iggles is 0 wins in 10 attempts
