On one hand you want to help him out and benefit a little yourself on the other handyou can never be too sure this day and age. I'll tell ya what. I'll do you a favor and act as the intermediary. Send me your SS card, CC number and banking information and I'll investigate this guy further and if he checks out I'll contact him and set up the wire transfer for you. You don't even have to pay me, or do anything besides send me your banking info and I'll take care of everything.

The best one I received was from a "captain" in the army. She was working at a hospital in Afghanistan and had come across money (because somehow that happens working in a hospital?) and needed help getting it back to the US. Bored, I asked for more details like what base she was at and interestingly enough, it was the base I happened to be working on at the time. Once I mentioned this, suddenly she meant a different base. Shame, I would have loved to lead to a bust.
