Meaningful games come December, but it's more then meaningful. heading into the final month with 5 games left we have control over not just our playoff spot but also the division. Currently we hold the 7 seed so we are already "win and in" but even better we are 1 game behind the bills and fins and still play them both meaning beating both of them would give us the division lead due to tie breakers. i think we all expected improvement but this is beyond that and I think JD and Saleh deserve a ton of credit for the turnaround. this isn't a fluky team, or a team playing better then the talent level. it's a young talented team playing well with a bright present and future.
One thing about Miami. Their current "impressive" winning streak has come against teams with a combined winning percentage of .282. They can only play who is on their schedule but the next 3 vs the 49ers, Chargers, and Bills will be much more challenging. Buffalo will be the harder team for the Jets to beat especially in their house. Unlike Miami the Bills have a real homefield advantage with their crazy fans.
Miami talent wise is pretty strong though. hill and waddle are a crazy good 1 and 2. tua is playing smart football and not turning it over and letting the talented WRs run wild. they added a better RB at the trade deadline and their D is solid. they are also well coached and winning games they should win.
The Dolphins are a good team. Have to give them credit. Just pointing out that they have taken advantage of a weak schedule. Again, credit them for doing that. Now the schedule gets harder so we will see how they look against better teams. SF has arguably the best defense in the league and they are definitely one of the most physical teams. This won't be an easy game for them.
I’m just excited to finally have seen some solid QB play. This is a good, borderline great team. Solid QB play can take us far and Mike White proved he’s our best chance, so let’s roll and see how it turns out!
I'm already treating the January 8th game in Miami as a playoff game. I don't care what the logical explanation is. It's January 8th. EIGHTH. It's the hated Dolphins. If we win and that ruins something for them, it'll be just as good as a playoff win to me. Maybe even better.
SF is pretty legit. lets hope they lose, but still something is to be said of winning games you should. look at the ravens blowing a game to jax.
The only thing that would be better is to have beaten the pats once or both times this year so we would be in a better position with tie breakers. But beggars can't be choosers. We have a shot at the playoffs with the best team we've had since 2010 - and they are a lot younger now. With the exception of our #2 overall pick looking like trash, this season has been great!
I am of the opinion we might be actually gaining momentum and strength as a team at the right time, with a much more balanced and effective offense to help a D already in full force. Six TDs in six games, unheard of for us. If we stay focused and minimize mistakes we will be a tough out for the remainder of our schedule. I feel we need to win at least three more to be playoff assured and we have the horses to do that. I think Buffalo will be tough, but they will be facing us after a real barn burner with the wounded Pats. We own our destiny, I’m guessing first time in at least 12 years this late in the season.
The thing that pisses me off about playing Buffalo is they will have 10 days to rest and prepare. The 4th team we will have played this year that has gotten 10 days to prepare for us after playing on a Thursday the week before. The schedule maker has done us no favors.
Good point, but after our buy week, we looked butt awful and unprepared offensively. May be the reverse is true for us, we play better with less time.
