Per Rotoworld: First, they make decide to make Shaun Rogers available: Then they trade away disgruntled DE Corey Williams Holmgren is cleaning house in Cleveland, and in doing so he's making the market for Dan Williams and Mount Cody a much more competitive place.
It'll be funny how every good move made from now on in Cleveland is Holmgren's doing but every bad move will be blamed on Mangini.
I missed the ball on that one. i found a thread I started saying Rubin reminded me of DRob. EDIT: Wow, going through old draft threads is fun. I also predicted that Curtis Lofton at 36 is not a reach. He was taken 37th. Cool.
Gotta be honest, I completely forgot about him. What was Rogers' injury last season. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it had something to do with his knees.
I can't believe Rubin dropped that far. Oh well wonder how long it takes until someone wants us to trade for Rogers.
Neither of those guys were brought in by Mangini. Not sure if it was just meant to say Mangini's D-Line (as in the Browns) or Mangini's D-Line (as in what he created)...
There's a reason Holmgren decided to keep Mangini around: he gives him a whipping boy and a do-over all rolled up in one. 75/25 Mangini is fired by the time the Browns play their next game after 2010. 25/75 he's fired by opening day 2010.
I think Mangini will turn that disaster around if given ample time to actually sift out the garbage inherited from the last regime. But what will probably happen is Mangini will do a great job of drafting (like he did here) and get canned before they reach their full potential, have a new guy come in and take the talent to new heights (like what happened here).
Williams should be geon between 9-11 IMO. The Bills are switching to the 3-4 and need a NT, its also a big need for Denever and the Phins. Cody could go to one of those three teams, but thats more of a risk. Still he'll be gone in the top half of the second at the latest and if he rolls around to KC's second pick its almost a no brainer for them. With so many teams switching to a 34 NT prospects are going to see a huge rise in thier stock. There are so many talented big guys to go around. Williams, Cody, and Cam Thomas could easily all be gone by the later half of the second.
