LEINART WANTS TO BE A JET

Hollywood Matt, as it turns out, is hoping to become the next Broadway Joe.

According to Rich Cimini of The New York Daily News, USC quarterback Matt Leinart "has told people in his inner circle that he's dying to play for the Jets."

The problem, however, is that the Jets might not by dying for this Matt, but for another one. Per Cimini, the Two Utes are now looking at shipping defensive end John Abraham to Atlanta for a package that would include quarterback Matt Schaub, the understudy to Mike Vick.

Not surprisingly, the Falcons aren't willing to deal Schaub. We don't blame them. Vick has begun to saunter down Turd Lane, as evidenced by recent shots at the team for its failure to maximize his talents. We've heard on the grapevine that Vick eventually could ask for his ticket out of town, which would make it important for the team to retain Schaub.

    Stay tuned.

Once the Atlanta deal falls through the Jets should make a move to #2

It's been a while for me here...but Matt Leinart is the only thing I'm currently excited about. Not Herm's exit, nor Mangini's entrance are worthy of the collective excitement we should feel if Broadway Matt comes to Gang Green.

what happened to everyone being high on cutler, higher on him than leinart?? I believe that nomatter what happens prior to the draft that the Jets will stay away from Leinart. I remember reading a while ago that they viewed leinart similarly to Pennington in terms of qb characteristics and did not want to invest that high a pick in him. I think we should sit tight at 4 and wait for the draft to unfold. There is an outside chance that we get to pick the first qb at the 4th selection even (note: outside). Our pick now has higher value than ever.

The only reason Leinart wants the Jets is to ensure he gets pick high. The higher the pick, the more money he gets.

He could have said the Titans and he would have been either picked at 2 or 3...I think he wants to live in NY and I also think he likes the situation where he would probably be the starter at some point year one.

look for "Matt Has Green Dream"

same exact thread, therefore ill give u my reply

im really on the fence about how he will do on the next level, he wants to play for us? of course he does he just got done being worshipped at USC

now he wants to come save the day in NY and be postered on Times Square? gimme a break, all he sees is the big city and endorsements. i guarantee you hes the type of player who will turn on his team mid game after being sacked 4 times in the first half.

im sorry he has primadonna written all over him. if he's ever seen in new york i hope its in a ball room and not green and white.

Or maybe he just wants to play for the Jets because their franchise is heading in the right direction. The Saints don't even know what city they be playing in next year. The Titans have lost too many good players recently and are on a downward spiral. The next team in the draft that would need a QB is Oakland. Enough said....

    no not enough said

cuz you were the author of the thread "Matt has Green Dreams" lol dont pull one over on me.

oh really you know how many cases could be made against us?

crappy o-line, lack of explosive recievers, a HOF RB ready to retire, CHAD PENNINGTON!, and the youngest FO in NFL history, but i guess none of that matters.

I think it's because with the Jets moving to North Jersey, he can live in Manhattan and hob-nob with the Hollyweird crowd. That and the money at being picked #2 (should the J E T S move up to grab him)

I don't care what he does, just as long as he plays his ass off like he did at SC

As soon as Vince Young mania takes over you will all jump on the bandwagon.

I won't, i never like vince young during the season, and when the hype was at its highest. He would be a wasted pick that will take 3 years to even see the field and be half way decent.

I'd like to see the Jets get Leinart. Having Matt and Manning in NY is gonna make for some fun football for a long time.

Leinart is the best QB in the draft, make no mistake about it. That's why we are either going to pay a king's ransom to get him or he won't be a Jet.

Right now I don't see us moving up.

Personally, i dont think taht we should draft a QB this year. Here's what i think the Jets COA should be.

    1) Trade John Abraham and a 4th round pick to the Atlanta Falcons for Matt Schaub and a 2nd round pick
    2) Trade down from the 4th overall pick to around the 10th (someone will want to move up for one of the 3 QBs or to get a Defensive stud before San Fran, Oakland & Green Bay)... BUT if we stay there either draft D'Brick or AJ Hawk.
    3) Draft a QB with our first pick next year. If its in the top 5 Brady Quinn... if not Brian Brohm. IMO, odds are not many teams will be looking for a QB next year.

    NEXT YEARS QB SITUATION
Houston - David Carr signed extension
    New Orleans - Drew Brees
Tennessee - probably drafting a QB, or maybe D'Brick
Green Bay - drafted Aaron Rodgers last year
San Fran - drafted alex smith last year
Oakland - drafted Andrew Walter and have Marques Tuiasosopo
Buffalo - JP Losman & Holcolmb
    Detroit - Harrington & Kitna
Arizona - Warner, so they might draft a QB
    St Louis - Bulger
Cleveland - Charlie Frye & Dilfer
Baltimore - Boller, so they may want to draft a QB
Philadelphia - McNabb & Mike McMahon
    Atlanta - Vick
    Miami - Culpepper
Minnesota - Johnson only a temp. They could be drafting a QB 1st round
Dallas - Bledsoe, Romo, Henson (Europe NFL could do wonders for him)
    San Diego - Phillip Rivers
Kansas City - Trent Green & Herm's the coach... could see them drafting a QB early in the 1st round next year
New England - not a chance (Brady)
Washington - Brunnell & Jason Campbell
    Tampa Bay - Chris Simms
    Cincinnati - Carson Palmer
New York Giants - Eli Manning
    Chicago - Grossman & Orton
Carolina - Delhomme, Weinke & LeFors for the future
    Jacksonville - Leftwich
    Denver - Plummer
    Indianapolis - Manning
    Seattle - Hasselbeck
    Pittsburg - Big Ben

    COA = Course of Action.

The Jets should be in a good position to draft a QB 1st round next year

Trade Abe and The number 4 for Shaub and 2 ?aRE YOU KIDDING?

I would rather trade for Ramsey or hand the reigns to Bollinger or run the ball on every down. Or let Penny throw 2 yard passes this will be a horrible trade for usFor a guy who has shown what exactly? potential in two games? Comeon do it over a regular period and i wouldnt even pay more.Did you see what injured but proven vets Culpepper and Brees went for? HELL NO!!!!!! I AM STEAMING. If i was the Jets FO i would have slammed the phone as soon as Atlanta Insulted us with that outrageous offer!!!!!!!!1
