    SI.com reporting. Details to come...

This sounded very unlike Beane to me, but I guess we have to see who the Rockies got.

Yeah, you have to wonder why. They know they have no chance to sign him because of Boras so it's basically just giving away players for a one year rental. I can understand that from a team that may be one player short of a championship but Oakland isn't in that position I don't think. Besides, aren't they supposed to be signing Giambi? I guess that fell through.

Oakland is going to need alot more than Holliday. Like, a bullpen for starters. Especially if they are serious about trading Huston Street.

They must have broken the bank in minor leaguers to get Holliday, considering they kind of came out of nowhere. I had previously heard they were only momentarily concidered as a destination.

To kind of go off track...Beane is grasping at air. He has consistantly built "contenders", but never built a true winner. And I'm not sure he even can. Not with $80 million, not with Holliday, and not with Street. They've traded ALOT of their young pitching in the last few seasons, and frankly, their staff last year was lacking.

Looks like Huston Street, Carlos Gonzalez and Greg Smith for Holliday+Picks.

The Rockies have gone ahead and thrown Street back onto the market.
