So, anyone else slightly confused by the sudden rash of tight backs with 2 of our more established ( but expendable ) assets?

Is it possible Tanny is getting us a #1 in hopes that K. Ellis can do Pouha's Job? If we could offload Pouha and Tone for a #1 receiver ( insert name below ), Would you do it? Do you think it's possible? Or is this just another case of big men in small mattresses?

I'm sure there are tons of teams dying to pick up Holmes and his contract and his baggage...yeah right.

I think Ellis needs some more time to develop before we go shipping off Pouha. I like Ellis, but he's still got a ways to go before capable of starting in the NFL.

Holmes is more of the offload. With Pouha being the more attractive piece of said trade.

We just signed Po'uha this offseason, I don't think the plan is to trade him this year.

No I think they're just being smart in the preseason with two established guys that probably don't need preseason to be ready. The staff already knows what they're capable of. No reason to push an injury and turn it into something worse.

It's possible that Po'uha just has a tight back. He's 33 after all and he weighs 330 lbs and the Jets are making him do jump-squats twice a day. Just thinking about that makes my back tight.

I guess this is what I was afraid of and was just being hopeful with this. Can't say his chemistry with Sanchez was off the charts end of last season. Could really use him on the field right now

    Tight backs eh?

    Do you mean like this?

Or do you mean how your back feels the day after you try to squeeze into something that tight?

Why would they fake injuries to guys if they're trying to "unload" them? Makes no sense.

In darksider land, anything goes. Another thread about somebody's hate for Holmes. Most original!

Holmes is here to stay. We aren't trading him plus a vital piece of our d for a slightly better WR 2 weeks before the season.

I think theyre clearly trying to trade Pouha Holmes and a 7th rounder for Calvin Johnson and Suh

I'd like to know who this ''#1"" is that we would be trading for. I'm getting so tired of all of these hypothetical threads about upgrading at WR without ever throwing out a realistic scenario about who this upgrade would be - Megatron? Fitzgerald? No way guys like that are getting traded for Holmes and a 33 year old NT (as much as I like Pouha he's not exactly enticing trade bait). This stuff is just pure fantasy.

No I don't think they are trying to "unload" Pouha and Holmes.

Pouha resting his back for "the rest of the preseason schedule" sounds much worse though than saying "the next three weeks" - which essentially is the same thing. A big man resting his back for three weeks before begining the football season - thats ok by me.

Definitely not a Holmes hater. I think he's a solid player, and have been a supporter of his. Him missing out on the entirety of the preseason isn't going to help chemistry with Sanchez, or the team, but it's not the end of the world. He's got the skills to outweigh that.

This was just a dreadful thought that hit me yesterday hearing about both players not even being out on the practice field due to "tight backs". I hope both players are here for a while.

Also, I don't think it's unreasonable for the team to use a minor, meaningless injury such as a tight back as an excuse to reporters and the like as to why a player wouldn't be on the practice field when really it could be because they're getting moved.

Man, All I did was say I was confused by Tone and Pouha both diagnosed with such a minor injury and also missing from the practice field completely on the same couple days, and then ask a couple "what if"s. At no point did I say "This is definitely happening" or "This is the deal that's going on right now, I know it".

I apologize to all those I have offended for asking a couple question about the JETS. I'll be sure to redirect all my future thoughts and questions to a community based message board that allows people to discuss topics with other fans of their team,.... Oh... wait.

Not sure if I'm one of those that sounded offended but I didn't mean it that way. It just seems that there are alot of people here talking about the Jets going after a ''#1'' WR but I never hear any mention of who this guy might be. I don't think the thought of the Jets making a big move like trading Holmes/Pouha is unthinkable, though it does seem unlikely, I just wonder who it is that everyone thinks they could possibly go after.

Yea, If i had a better idea I would have mentioned it. The only one that came to mind is Harvin, Though i know we've exhausted that topic here. Definitely wasn't looking to start another we should "Sign This Beast" thread. Just speculating.

( Other possibles: Bowe, Wallace? - No way holmes goes back to Pit, would need to be 3 way trade ),
