Synopsis: For the first time ever, you can own the Complete History of the New York Jets in a 2-disc set loaded with all the defining moments and enhanced content a Jets' fan could ever want. From the vast emptiness of the Polo Grounds to the thunderous roar of the Meadowlands, NFL Films documents the incredible history of the New York Jets. Covering 47 seasons of passion, J-E-T-S takes you from the dismal hilarity of the early years, through the Joe Namath era, the New York Sack Exchange, the heartbreak kids of 1986 right up to the Eric Mangini era of today. The history of the New York Jets is unlike any other in the history of the NFL. Born into anonymity, formed on the consistent verge of bankruptcy, to love the Jets is to dream. In January of 1969, the dream became reality as the Jets overcame the greatest odds in sports history to win Super Bowl III. But the euphoria of an incredible upset came at a price - for the next thirty-eight seasons the Jets would suffer one heartbreaking post-season loss after another. And yet Jets fans remain firm in their hope and their loyalty. Each year, the Jets are in the hunt-and their fans believe that each season will be the one to reclaim the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Since 1960 some of the game's greatest heroes, and anti-heroes have performed in front of the game's most loyal football fans. This is their story.
That movie is gonna suck we only won one championship. I'm a huge Jets fan but lets face it, we really haven't had the most intruiging history. There are many negative memories, such as our draft blunders and the Heidi game, but they definitely should have waited until after this year, when we will have two super bowl rings.
This is going to be a pretty cool and CRUEL thing to watch right before the beginning of the 2007 season. I am definitely going to own it the day it is released though :jets:
There are quite a few years that should be lost, kinda like the missing 18 minutes of audio tape during Nixon's Watergate. I would be interested in the good stuff though, and there has been a lot of good stuff over the years, too.
So? With all those negative memories come some great ones. Its definitely not going to suck, I'm looking forward to it.

While I am sure it is a must have for Jets fans and I will get a copy, I know there are portions that are just going to be down right painful to watch. You almost have to ask yourself why put this out now. What have we done in the past few years that warrants an historical treatment of the franchise.
Oh yeah, absolutely. I'll be there to get it when it comes out. And it will serve as a grim reminder of what we're trying to achieve this year. :jets:
being a new jets fan, well since 2005, i cant wait for this, history is history and there is no way around it....plus since i wasnt around for anything pre 05, it will be interesting to see what players we had as turnover of players happens alot, the jerseys we had and the style of play etc etc....i will own it the day it hits shelves if there isnt a presale online thing for it if my aussie rules team had a dvd like this come out, i would still jump for it even tho ive had to live thru 8 seasons, yes 8 seasons of finishing last in a row.
I was thinking from the fake spike until the hiring of Parcells w/ the exception of the comedy show put on by Leon Hess , the I'm 80 years old speech
I agree that the best way to do the DVD is wait for there to be another Championship. You've got a story that right now ends nowhere. I would love to see a truly insightful review of the team, including all the painful decisions and missteps that pulled glory out from under us. A combination of Krieger's bio on Namath and the excellent Gang Green from NY Times Jet writer, Gerald Eskenazi. Right now. Gang Green provides an excellent overview of the Glorius Interruptus that is the Jets history.
Great V's should include the playoff spankin of the colts with chad as QB...that really long screen for a score...44-0...right?
