Big meteor shower this weekend. Unfortunately doesn't look like best viewing weather for the east coast.... we've had crystal clear skies all week, but this weekend is supposed to be 80% cloud cover https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/meteor-shower/geminids.html
This is usually the best one of the year. Skies are more clear. But yeah, clouds and rain will mess it up.
yeah, a bummer... with it being a weekend, mommy said I can stay up past my bedtime to see it.... and have BEER!
We went to Iceland 2 years ago and went out to see the Northern Lights and unfortunately, it was cloudy that night. We did get a little glimpse of them.
We got a break in the clouds around 10pm, I saw one bright one. Was very short, that was about it. We have so much light pollution here, that the sky has to be perfect.
Yeah, not too bad by my house, but alot better if go to the beach south of town..... but I could barely even see the ocean in the middle of the day yesterday
Hard too see the required direction at my house (trees) but Unfortunately a bit too cloudy in the "sunshine state" to justify driving somewhere else to see (cool "rings around the the moon though) https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/jupiter-and-saturn-embrace-in-solstice-conjunction/
