Would anybody do this trade? I'm the one offering it (potentially). I have Heath Miller and Keller at tight end, Torrey Smith, Pierre Garcon at WR, and Jamaal Charles, Mikel Leshoure, Cedric Benson, and McGahee at RB. Miller's been so damn good I really don't feel like I need Hernandez anymore, and while it might leave me thin at WR the idea of Charles and MJD makes me think it's worth it. Would you do it? Is it even fair?
I'm on the fence right now. Offering Hernandez might be fine as he might not even be 100% when he comes back. I'd be reluctant to trade Nelson. The GB offense hasn't been the monster that it was last year, but there's still plenty of time to turn that around. Having to face three good defenses, so far, hasn't helped. The fact that Jennings has been already been hurt does add to Nelson's value. Your RB position is very hit or miss, but I don't think you can panic yet as we don't know how good Charles or Leshoure are yet. Charles showed last week he can be an amazing fantasy RB (which we knew from past years, anyway), and if Hillis misses time, then he can only get better. Leshoure showed the potential, but again, we need to see more to access his value. McGahee and Benson are solid backups. I don't think you're in bad enough standing to go all in for MJD or a different elite RB, yet.
i would offer it but i wouldn't be too hopeful that it gets accepted. mjd finally re-established his fantasy value as a guy with elite upside and you're offering 2 guys whose value is at the lowest it's going to be all season. hernandez is a top 5 tight end when he returns in a couple weeks but the tight end pool is unusually deep this year so you can get by with a guy like heath miller. you're just praying that he scores a touchdown or you're going to end up with a 3-5 point game from him. nelson is struggling along with the rest of the gb offense. their defense is playing better so shootouts will come along less often and they're trying a bit to get their running game involved. the thing is that you'd be trading him right on the verge of a potential huge game against the terrible saints defense. so if you wait, you could possibly sell for a lot higher. of course if he struggles, then.. you know. i would do it. the jaguars passing offense looks as terrible as ever and they finally gave mjd the 20+ touches that he deserves. this guy is their entire offense. after all that, i would try to send one or two of your bench rbs to someone for a decent wr. garcon's foot injury looks like it might be something that lingers.
