Drafting him 4th no but if we do get another pick maybe the Lions 9th or if he's still around with the Falcons 15th he would be the way to go. He's interchangeable at corner and safety and we all know how much the Mangini/Belicheck/Patriot system loves that. Also take a look around the league. Look what Polumalu has done for that Steelers defense. He is all over the field. One play he Blitzes the next he picks off a pass in coverage. We could have Huff doing the same thing. The great defenses the past few years have been very strong at safety. Harrison brought the Patriots D to another level and the same can be said with Ed Reed for the Ravens. There was a reason why the Ravens defense sucked last year and it was mostly because Reed was out. #1 defense in the league...the Bears... who's their safety...Mike Brown...not too shabby.

I know most of you will say we have other needs and we have young safeties in Coleman, Rhodes, and Maddox but has any of them shown you they will be great? IMO they haven't (Maddox of course we need to see first before I make a judgement) and if we do get an extra pick Huff should be a strong consideration.

What makes you think Mangini and Bellichick like interchangable CB's and Safety's? When was the last time they had a guy they switched from Saftey to corner?

Michael Huff would be nice, but we have MANY more needs other than safety and CB...

I actually think Miller, Barrett and Rhodes will excel under Mangini...

I dont think Barrett will get any better with Mangini...I think Mangini will bring in some DBs in the later rounds, and try to work with them.

yeah, but those aren't "mangini's guys"...i can see him drafting some DBs in the 4th round and beyond.

    Projects.

Kerry Rhodes and Justin Miller will be very good, but Mangini used a lot of DBs in New England, so I think he'll bring in more...

If we draft a corner in the first round it would have to be Tye Hill. Huff is great but we need a cover corner, not a safety.

I am pretty sure Huff is considered a corner...he ran a 4.3 at the combine so he is fast enough to play either...

Huff is going to be an Ed Reed level safety if he stays there in the NFL. Right now I think he could go as high as #6 to SF, and if he does he might be a corner. Either way, he's definately a special player.

Yes people are sleeping on andre maddox but huff is a corner not a safety.

I would love a guy like huff, he can cover pretty much anybody size wont be a problem and speed isnt one either.

But we need to address offense first.

Huff would be a big mistake. We have some talent at the CB position already and we need a younger offense so badly it is ridiculous.

The Jets need everything but DBs.

  17. I'm not as high on Huff as many others are.

He no doubt has great athleticism and playmaking ability, but he has no true position. He becomes an asset in terms of versatility but where does he make his living? We're pretty much set at safety w/ Rhodes and Coleman and Huff maybe too slow to start at CB.

Yeah Kurt, he definitely ran a 4.3

  20. I did not know that.

I guess that makes him this year's Fabian Washington, b/c his on field speed is around a 4.5 flat
