Another tragedy that could've been avoided. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...rs-wr-henry-ruggs-charged-dui-resulting-death
Damn! This is awful. I'm so glad that we didn't draft him!!!! He had no business out at 3:40 am drinking, much less drinking and driving. I think many, if not most, teams provide drivers for players for this very reason, and there's Uber and Lyft and cabs. His career is shot. If guilty, which it certainly appears that he is, he should get at least 5 years in prison. This better not get suspended because he's a damn football player. I hope that they give him the maximum whatever it is.
They should suspend the sentence with the understanding that the victims family gets 50% of the gross earned Sent from my Pixel 5a using Tapatalk
Hopefully, the family won't be that money-grubbing. How much is a person's life worth? Besides, as long as he's out and working in the NFL, or anywhere for that matter, the dumbass could do it again. Playing in the NFL is a privilege, and as far as I'm concerned he lost that privilege when he killed someone in a drunk stupor driving.
shame... so young... kid grows up in Alabama, plays for Bama... gets paid, kills someone else while he ruins his own life
Not that they should, but if they're going to suspend his sentence, the victim's family should get 100% of the gross earned. Also given that NFL players have a contact for a ride anytime they need it, I'd be inclined to sentence him to the max if I were a judge.
Sadly it will be a manslaughter crime and he will probably get the minimum since he can afford a lawyer.
