Lundqvist was the greatest Ranger goalie. Mike Richter was excellent also. Didn't see enough of Giacomin to rate him.

Going to disagree and say Rickter was better, especially in the playoffs.

Lundqvist had better postseason save %, postseason GAA, and 20 more postseason wins.
He also had to carry the team way more than Richter did.

I'd give it to Lundqvist hands down, both regular and post season.
    Best Rangers goalie.

Lundqvist had the consistency of Richter and the spectacular "can't beat him" streakiness of Davidson in one package.

I can't rate Eddie Giacomin because I only saw him at the end of his career but when I went back to look at his overall career it was pretty damned impressive - which is why he is in the HoF. I still think Lundqvist was better, however being able to watch his entire career is definitely part of that equation.

Good point, Giacomin was before my time as well.,
I started watching in the 80's, so i was real young even for the tail end of JD's career.

There's been some pretty good Rangers goalies between Gump Worsley, Giacomin, JD, Vanbiesbrouck, Richter, and Lundqvist.
Think Igor can carry the torch?

Yeah I think Igor is pretty good. Probably a top 10 goalie.

To be better than that, well we'll just have to wait and see how he develops.

The save on Pavel Bure's penalty shot in game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals was one for the ages. Down 2-1, if he gives that up the while series changes.

I watched every single game during their Stanley Cup season so I am definitely biased when it comes to Mike Richter. I also had my picture taken with him at a luncheon the season prior and he was such a nice guy. He will always be my favorite Rangers goalie.

    the fuckin BOSS

In the 2017 World Championship, Lundqvist joined the Swedish team in the group stage and stayed in net for all five remaining games, including the final against Canada. Lundqvist had an excellent tournament and recorded a 1.31 GAA, and a .946 save percentage. The final against Canada went into a shootout and Lundqvist stopped all four Canadian chances to lead his country to its tenth World Championship title

Well, my nana lived next door to Giacomin in East Atlantic Beach ( Buffalo Ave.) so he's the greatest IMO.
