Personally, I'm sick of all the hype around an award that is basically limited to QBs of the top programs. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/sports/6162819.html When the 74th annual Heisman Trophy is announced tonight, Tebow, the junior quarterback from Florida, will have a pair of Big 12 quarterbacks in Bradford (Oklahoma) and McCoy (Texas) standing in the way of him becoming only the second two-time winner of college football?s most coveted individual award. Depending on the various tracking polls, this is expected to be the closest Heisman Trophy race since 2001 ? when Nebraska?s Eric Crouch edged Florida?s Rex Grossman 770 to 708. The closest Heisman vote came in 1985, when Auburn?s Bo Jackson squeaked past Iowa?s Chuck Long 1,509 to 1,464. ?For the first time in a while, there?s going to be some actual suspense,? said Kari Chisholm, the publisher of the Heisman-tracking Web site StiffArmTrophy.com. Tebow is trying to join Ohio State running back Archie Griffin (1974 and ?75) as the only back-to-back winners. With the deadline to submit ballots Wednesday, the three-candidate race is too close to call.
Sam Bradford wins. The guy announcing it actually said "and the winner of the 19..." before correcting himself
Tebow got the most first place votes but finished third. A bunch of people left Tebow out of the top three to screw him and prevent him from winning.
