For years I've been meaning to attend a Jets TC, but something has always come up - usually an influx of extreme laziness, or I'll just flat out forget altogether. Anyway, my brother and I have already rented a car for Saturday and we're planning on heading up to Cortland at around 5am, hopefully arriving during the early part of the first practice session. My question is for those of you who have already gone up there this month. Any advice? Anything I should watch out for? How can I score a good seat close enough to the action? And where can I get some good food? Thanks!
I'm heading up Saturday too, I heard it's supposed to rain though. Does anyone know what they'll do in the case of rain. I'm guessing they'll bring the practice inside, but are indoor practices worth driving 4 hours to watch? I'm guessing they're more limited to what you can do indoors. I could use some advice on whether it's still worth driving up in spite of the forecast.
That's a really good point. I haven't checked the weather forecast for Saturday until now, and it looks like there's a 60% chance it'll rain. I'll wait until tomorrow night to make a decision I guess. Anyone know what it's like during the rain at TC?
I tried to go last night for the scrimmage. SUNY Cortland is a nightmare. The cops are assholes. The campus is shit. The view is terrible. Save your gas, it'll be cheaper to spend 8 bucks on stubhub and go to a preseason game.
Bills Fan here Bills fan living in Cortland. Dropped by the evening practice last night. I'm guessing about 1500 or so showed up. Sanchez looked impressive. I shot a few minutes of video before security said no no. I uploaded the video to youtube... not much, but it is what it is... you can watch here. at youtube.com forward slash watch?v=wl5XnF6_gQ8 Just a Bills fan showing you guys some love and throwing out a little bone.
Looks like the weather is going to be pretty decent tomorrow: http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/allergies/wxdetail/USNY0340?dayNum=1&from=36hr_fcst_allergies
Yeah I just saw that too. Looks like Saturdays rain will be coming Sunday instead. I'm planning at leaving at 4 am to head out for the day.
went to the scrimmage thursday night. what a joke. almost zero visability. the field is fenced off on three sides, no one can watch from there. the remaining side was 15 deep in fans plus a few cheap 5-row bleachers that were packed. yeah.
Yeah, that annoyed the hell out of me. I had to sit by the fence for 2 hours to reserve a nice spot for the afternoon practice, which lasted about an hour. All in all it was fun to watch the players practice and to hear the coaches shouting orders, but I doubt I'd make the same trip again to Cortland. Man, that place is depressing.
