Sean Glennon has won the starting quarterback job at Virginia Tech and he's only a sophomore. I think this guy is gonna be great...he is supposedly a high character player and he has all the tools: Size (6'4 215), speed, and improving arm strength and accuracy. I think Virginia Tech is going to make a run at the ACC Championship/National Championship...not this year, but next and Glennon is going to lead them.
Really I heard he was a douche bag. And if we win any championship it is going to be because of Bud Foster, not Sean Glennon. He seems like a pretty good pocket passer, something we haven't had in a while, but doesn't seem like someone who is capable of carrying a team.
Yeah...I heard the same at first about him being a jerk, but all of the coaches seem to like him. He's gotta be showing them something, you don't win the starting QB job as a sophomore unless your good.
Or unless the QB position is desolate, which VTech is probably bordering on right about now. Like Rambo said, any hope VT has is going to be grounded solely on the defense, unless they luck into another Brian Randall.
VT has great receivers that can get down field and put score touchdowns...they just need someone to get them the ball and I think Glennon can be that guy if he has enough to time to find them. He just can't make too many mistakes and the defense can win the game.
Sure he's a character guy compared to Marcus Vick. VT will never win the big game with Beamer running the show.
VT offense doesnt need much from Glennon to be succesful he just has to manage the games and make a few plays passing (hopefully Eddie Royal will get his hands on the ball, him and King last year really seemed to suffer from Vick who for some reason didnt get the ball to them much) but their running game should be very good with the 2 backs in Brandon Ore and George Bell.
I dont think he'll ever go though until hes to old to coach, hes done so much for the school and the program. Hes also a god down in Blackburg and he deserves to be cause like i said he made the Hokies and put them on the map. I do like how he has been able to keep his coaching staff though I would have thought Bud Foster would have been gone by now hes such an awesome coach and great motivator.
Hate to agree with a Cane but you are right. I wouldn't say he won the QB position outright, more like he was given it by default. And he is a redshirt Sophomore making him the most experienced QB on the roster. I think he was the obvious choice and I expect him to manage the game well but not win it on his own. There are going to be a lot of close games next year, but the good news is we are best with our backs against the wall when everyone counts us out.
Gotta agree with this though. We have a very underrated, very deep group of receivers with Morgan, Clowney, Royal, Hyman, plus the new guys Todd Nolen, Jacob Sykes and Zach Luckett. We have something for everyone: speed, shiftiness, desire, height, hands. Too bad we have a Wang for a tight end...
