    WTF is taking so long?
This one blows my mind. We're led to believe:
    A) the Titans are tagging him
B)Head Dancer wants a long-term deal, or at least the promise they won't tag him again next year

So why is it taking so long? You would think the Titans hold all the cards in this one.
But do they really? In theory, the franchise itself has the absolute power in deciding what player gets franchised, how often they get franchised, etc.
But then you have guys like Lance Briggs and Asante Samuel shattering that theory (and proving what a mockery the franchise tag system really is). Players dictating how when and where the franchise tag is applied is happening pretty regularly now.

Head Dancer wants a long term deal, and like Samuel...he'll get it. Big BIG numbers. And probably from a team other than the Titans. Because really, if they were going to do it why would they wait a year and not protect another player with the tag.

So for as long as the announcement doesn't happen between Haynesworth and Tennessee, Jets fan can still dream. I know it's not like he's the Messiah who can save the Jets, but when you look at the HIGH 1st RD PICK they have as an option on the d-line today...he really almost is.
I wouldn't like the kind of power these players wield if I was an owner. But as a fan, I love it! Anything can will and does happen everyday.
I never thought Johan Santana would be a Met the day before he was traded to the Mets. Albert Head Dancer Haynesworth is always a possibility. And if not this year, next year perhaps.

As long as they don't take Jacob Bell I'll be happy. That's the guy we need. Haynesworth will prove that he just never really cared that much and wanted his big contract.

my guess is that they are trying to work out a long term contract and will franchise him tomorrow if they can't get a contract done.
