Unless you were a fan during the AFL days, you reek of jealousy. The incessant whining about the Giants and the apparent hatred is pathetic.

While I would never ever put a Giants avatar up but rooting for the Giants is the lesser of two evils. It's sorta like the election we are going to have in a few months. To me a Pats loss is the biggest failure in sports history which far outweighs the Giants winning.

I don't hate the Giants, I hate the Pats, but I am tired of the Jets being the ugly step child in NY. I would be a fan of anyone who would be going against the Pats.

I can kind of see why Jets fans wouldn't want to deal with a region full of self-satisfied Giants fans after a Super Bowl win. They'd be obnoxious and annoying. That's partially why I don't post on a Giants board.

The thing is, if I was a Jets fan, I probably wouldn't post on a Jets board. Because EVERY fanbase is mostly idiotic and obnoxious. That's why there's a Bunker thread in the BS Forum.

Apparently I get a pass from you since I go back to the AFL days, but I find these kinds of posts incredibly annoying. There is no logic to how someone roots for a sports team, and to act like your choices are somehow superior to anyone else's is to me the height of arrogance and stupidity.

I know how I will root two weeks from now, and I really couldn't care less how anyone else will root. Why do you care so much?

Can’t say I totally agree - I hated the Giants when I lived in NY…just completely despised the team and their fans. Since I’ve moved away from NY though – they don’t bother me so much anymore. I’ll root for them before I root for the shitty Buccaneers

It reeks of jealousy. "We'll be the stepchildren of New York even more," and "I hate the Giants, we're always second class to them," and crap like that is just pathetic. Fine. It's my opinion. So what?

So you started a thread about it and called anyone who disagrees with you pathetic, which strikes me as what actually is pathetic, that's what.

If I'm not mistaken, aren't you a Met fan? And don't 99% of Met fans HATE the Yankees?

Is it because of jealousy? Or is it because it's difficult to deal with the Yankee fans, living in the same city as them, especially when they win?

If that's how you see it, then fine. I see the hatred of the Giants just because they are from New York as well as pathetic. If anyone would like to offer up some reasons (besides the previously-insinuated arrogance of Giants ownership and players and probably fans during the AFL times), then I'd like to see them. I don't understand why people hate the Giants besides jealousy with the whole stadium issue and the fact the Giants are just historically better.

When we do win a Super Bowl, Exit 117 will not be invited to the party.

I will remember every traitor with a smurfs avatar here, every last one. YOU ARE NOT JETS FANS

You do not have to pick teams here. No good can come out of any outcome.

The Yankees are just not a likable bunch of people unless you're a fan of the team. Plus, you have to deal with bullshit like their 26 rings. It's not jealousy of the 26 rings, but rather the arrogance of the Yankees and their fans flaunting it and using it in arguments and shit like that. Basically, the general population of Yankee fans are bandwagoners, and therefore intolerable. Obviously using this site as an example would be a bad choice (unless we're talking about Roger). I'll even admit some of it IS jealousy, but if you put everything else unlikable about the Yankees aside, that jealousy isn't enough to cause me to hate them and root against them.

Oh please, the Yankees are a bunch of smug, unlikable fuckers. That's what I was trying to say. Derek Jeter can go to hell.

Exit... I'm a big Met fan, and I hate the Yankees. The fanbase sucks BECAUSE they win... The Giants are winning right now, and if they win in Arizona, I can guarantee you the fanbase will be similar to the Yank's fanbase in disgustingness....

I loathe bandwagoners. If I have to live near a fanbase that is winning, and deal with all their bandwagon fans, I begin to hate them....

The Giants have enough bandwagoners in NY as it is, as almost every fan who doesn't really know Joe Montana from Joey Ramone and lives in NY is a Giants fan, and supports the team proudly when they make the playoffs....

A SB victory will only add to that.... Everything you hate about the Yankees has come about because of their winning and your proximity to their fanbase... Actively rooting for the Giants to win as a Jet fan is not much better than rooting for the Yanks as a Met fan... Minus the on-the-field rivalry

I haven't really had any bad experiences with actual Giants fans or really run into any bandwagoners... at least, not the kind that will start a discussion with Jets suck or something like that. I don't mind bandwagoners as long as they don't try to act like they know what they're talking about.

I don't think the Giants fans could possibly be as bad as Yankee fans... or, for that matter, Patriots fans. It'd be much worse if the Patriots won because they'd be 19-0.
