First off I have to say don't listen to the reviewers I thought it was a good movie.

Second I have a question I will not post it on here just incase someone wants to see it. But I was confused about something that took place in the film.

Hey, ganggreengirl. I live right across the river from Huntington. I can answer any questions you might have about the movie or the portrayal of the events. Just send me a private message with your question.

PM me with your question. i saw it.

i thought it was pretty good. i watched it right after the new rocky movie (which kicked ass and is the second best in the series) and i was all pumped from rocky. so i think that may have detracted from WaM for me.

I did. And I want my money back. The best part of the movie is a montage of modern-day Marshall players at the end.

Bah, Humbug. Perhaps you should visit around here and spend a day around the town of Huntington. The story onscreen is true, and the town still hurts because of it.

    Cold-hearted bastard. Meh.

    movie

i have attended marhall games since 1974. you have not seen bad football unless you saw the marshall teams of the 70's.

the movie was very well done, telling the story in a very truthful matter. except for the composite characters, the characters were true to the actual people (composite characters-obviously they could not show every girlfriend who lost their love or every parent who lost their son, so they had a character to represent those people). most of the film was done on marshall's campus-unfortunately fairfield stadium (the field in those days) had been torn down 2 years before the making of the movie so they used a field in georgia. that was the actual gravesite and marshall actually won that game on the last play. the movie is pretty well on target, with a few necessary changes.
if you liked the movie, find the "Ashes to Glory" dvd. it is a documentary on the subject of the crash. it is great.
i honestly do not understand why anyone would not like this movie. of course i am biased.

Yeah I saw it, it was decent, but definitely not anything special. Off topic a bit, anyone hear that assclown Chris "Fruitloops" Russo going on and on about this movie the other day? If you went by what he said you'd think this was the second coming of Citizen Kane or something. I mean it was that over the top. Then he started attacking New York critics who panned the movie, the whole thing was quite amusing.

i cant stand to listen to lardass and the douche dog. mikes a big, fat, bloated dummy who has a career because he called seton hall one year. russo is a hyper asshole. they are perfect for eachother.

i called up once after oliver mc call had that breakdown in the ring on hbo boxing. mc call was a crackhead (important to my story). they were going on about the fight, well, the lack of a good fight and mc calls breakdown. i called in and reminded them about his former (maybe current) crack use, and that he shouldnt have been allowed in the ring. when i started going into the whole "he was a crackhead and isnt stable" i had fat mike screaming at me "are you a doctor rocco??!!" like 50 times. "how do you know what the effects of crack addiction are?".

then he gave a little rant about steve howe and his drug use, and how he was allowed to pitch. mike never really understood that getting punched in the head repeatedly and pitching are completely different. he also implied, and later flat out said that nobody knows what the effects of crack are on people.

hes a big fat asshead. that hole in his face has a slight brownish hue around it.

It was an excellent movie. I'd highly recommend it to anybody who likes inspirational films. It was definitely not a football movie, btw, it was more of a triumph over adversity film and quite good at that.

thanks for the info. i was upset reading some of the reviews and now after seeing it i am more upset. i think the reviewers steered alot of threaters away from showing it. i had to travel to a see it, i think alot of people take what reviewers say as gospel when they couldn't be more off base on this movie.
