Plenty of guys are really impressive in highschool and don't do anything in the NFL.

Regardless, I've got high hopes for him and liked what I saw in the very limited action he got last season. Pouha, Ellis, Wilk, and Coples could potentially be an insanely good line.

Since he's playing against high school kids, you have to take his dominance on the video with a grain of salt. On a positive note, he appears to get off the line of scrimmage very quickly for someone his size.

Jets will still need an undertackle - Ellis is not, and neither is Pouha. Or it has 3-4 DL set up written all over. (and Pouha/Ellis will be rotating - which is pretty good in fact.)

Copes/wilk can play undertackle in a 4-3. They're athletic enough to take and interior lineman one on one with pouha/ellis. Drawing double teams. Or they draw doubles while the NT gets a 1 on 1

Wilk can play undertackle - yes. Pouha (or Ellis) will play NG, and Coples will rush from one edge. Now, who's rushing from the other edge then? (That was where the 3T question originated.)

Pace/maybin. Take your pick. This team needss an edge rusher more than a 4-3. 3 tecnique dt.

    Thatss what im getting at.

Demario davis can play 3-4 ILB but iss more of a prototype 4-3 OLB. His flexibility as a rotational player iss severely underrated in uss implementing a hybrid defense.

Coples is bettr suited to rush from the inside in a 4 man front. He's just sso athletic and with wilk/pouha/ellis rotating inside, that coples can take advantage of a 1 on 1 with a less athletic OT.

Im just saying you made it sound like a 4 man front was a losst cause without a new 3 technique dt emerging.

Coples/wilk can play inside and out and regardless of scheme will contribute. The quesstion is will maybin progress? Will pace become a liability? Can davis adjust to the nfl level as quickly as we need him?

Im more worried about LBer and safety. This team iss loaded at DL and CB. Mike devito can also play undertackle if needed. Hess the one getting lost in the mix though

    1. Pace as edge-rushing DE failed almost a decade ago in Arizona. Now, on his last leg, he will be a threat? How?

    2. Maybin is too light for it - no?

    3. In four-man front set up, I see three holes, and two pluggers - regardless of 3T and whatnot.

    4. All in all, I doubt if going with 4 men front is a necessary step, if at all. Believe it or not, Bruce Smith, the sackmeister of the 90's, operated as a 3-4 DE. Jets have the set-up for similar thing too - why not tap from the past success? With Wilkerson and Pouha/Ellis taking on double teams, Coples should be able to dominate one-on-one match up against nearly any OT.

I hope Ellis with his Court Case kind of wrapped up.. He will be able to focus and be a major contributor in the DL. I really think we have a great rotation of players and we can finally tell all these bandwagoning analyst who cant think or write for themselves to go kiss our butts
