was wondering if we are gonna keep him, and let him compete with clemens, in TC. i don't know what you guys think, but put a good offensive line in front of him, and i think he can do something for us. sstill think he gives us the best chance to win.
I heard he's got a weak arm, and his 10 yard out route, is an invitation for CB's to Put TD's on their resume
When the jets have a good line he is a top 10 qb in this league look at 2006. I cant stand Kellen and his interceptions
I was always the biggest Chad supporter, I as a Jets fan... NEVER wanted to see Chad on the bench... When we drafted Kelllen, I would bash Kellen and let everyone know Chad gave us the best chance of winning... Im sorry guys, but this aint the Chad of old anymore, his arm is one of the weaker arms in the NFL... He lost his confidence, you can just tell... Plus, I fell in love when I seen Kellen play, Clemens is going to be a special QB for this Jets team, why slow down his progression? Kellen should win us alot of games next year if we sign Faneca
The FO says there's going to be a competition between Chad and Kellen. The HC says there's going to be a competition between Chad and Kellen. So why don't you think they mean what they say...?
Kellen and his Int's? Bro, I luv Chad and still... Am sick of his BS out routes that end up in the opposing CB's hands before our own WR's in the flats... Chad is done as a starter
You can't evaluate Kellen behind this 07 OL. It is a sieve and there is no complementary running game. These QBs and RBs need an OL that can pass block WELL and run block WELL. Otherwise they don't stand a chance, no matter how good they are.
I am not ready to turn the keys to the kingdom over to Clemens. Let them battle it out in camp. I thought Chad wasn't fully healthy after the ankle injury. That New England game was probably the best QB performance of the season IMHO given the conditions (J-Mac's drop was money too!). The Jets can afford to keep both QBs this year. If there's one thing we've learned is that its never bad to have a good backup QB. We can't rely on drafting a QB and having him as a backup- having an inexperienced starter and an even more inexperienced backup is a recipe for disaster.
I think they are waiting to see what they can get for Chad. Even though the FO said its an open competition I think KC is who they are leaning to. This is the guy they drafted and they can't give up on him after 8 or 9 games.
I think in BS system, it will take 3.5 to 4 years for a newbie QB to arrive as a starter successfully. Now Kellen is still in the process and Chad has mentally and maybe this year physically. We need two QBs who can handle all the mental and physical versatility that the BS system demands -- from day one. If we were to try and rely on a No. 2 that had never seen the NFL let alone this BS System before, we would be hamstrung. I think that if the NYJs are really serious (as they seem) about building successful OL and DL THIS year, then we should keep both Chad and Kellen, let them battle it out, and let them become seasoned, so that whoever wins the starting role in this competition AND stays healthy can take advantage of the WRs and the RBs behind this new OL that pass blocks and run blocks WELL.
no....Manging shouldnt have been pressured into PLAYING chad. Once he had the high ankle sprain in week one, THAT is when Clemens should have been in. Clemens (healthy) wins some of the games that Chad (injured) lost. Chad coming back healthy, after 5 or 6 weeks, wins more games down the second half.
Chad would not be in the competition if the CS didn't believe he could make all the throws necessary. Your comment implies the CS doesn't know what they're doing with the QBs when they set up another competition between Chad and Kellen this year. I believe the CS are competent and they know more about both of them than we apparently do.
