Anybody have any memories of an ex-Jet named Harry Hamilton? I'm an attorney with a Government agency, we're having our annual conference, and I just met him. He is an attorney with from another office of ours. I sort of remember him but don't remember any details. Thanks.
A Jets safety from 1984-87, he was one of the toughest Jets. One time he hit an opponent so hard, he tore the skin off his forehead and needed stitches to have it reattached. He finished his career with the Buccaneers from 1988-91. He had 23 career INTs and 1 sack. Hamilton also had sloppy facial hair.
When I was a teenager I would go to the parking lot after every game and get pictures and autographs. After each game Harry Hamilton would have a two or three women sing a song as he came out of the tunnel and hung around to sign autographs. I have no idea if they were his Mom and wife or just a fan club, but they were there every week. They would sing. "We love you Harry..oh yes we do...we love you Harry our hearts are true..." Kenny Schroy (#48) would always bust his chops, it was always a good laugh. If you ask him about it I'd love to know who those women were.
I REMEMBER THAT TOO!!!!!!!!! hmy: Right where the players exit the stadium after the games ... I was standing there after one game and a group of girls started to sing when Hamilton came out "We're Just wild about Harry!! And Harry's wild about us!! Oh we're just wild about Harry ... and Harry's wild about ... can-not live without ... Harry's wild about us!!" This is really true ... T2B is 100% correct ... I remember it like it was yesterday

I spoke with Harry again today. He seemed touched and impressed that the first recollection of his days with the Jets was his toughness. He said that the women that sang for him in the parking lot were both fans and family. He said he was lucky to play for the Jets because he was from Long Island, moved to Scranton Wilkes-Berry, and played for Penn State so many people came to see him and it was more than a player of his status should have had. He seemed saddened to think of the Jets December woes during his time with them.
