Watching the first episode. Kinda reminds me a bit of Starship Troopers but I'm already a fan. Streaming on Paramount+. I think they may have a hit on this one. I can recommend giving this a try..
I really enjoyed it. But it has garnered very mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. I'm glad they just didn't follow the game storyline. I know it inside and out. I think the direction they are going is very interesting. People forget that the Spartan program was originally designed to quell the "rebels" on the outer word colonies. The series makes that very evident from the get go. I thought that was great. If you've never read the first Halo novel, The Fall of Reach, do it.
Saw the animated series. Fall of Reach was the first in the series and that's what got me hooked on HALO. I was really intrigued by the young human female heading up the Covenant.

Btw, that song and the video has nothing to do with the video game. I just said Halo, wait, what? The song was the first thing that occurred to me because brain, and I posted it because it's an "unofficial" video for the gaming nerds
Again, "unofficial video". If Porcupine Tree let the developers use the song at some point it still had squat to do with the game. If I'm wrong, I'll eat it.
I was responding to your comment that the video had nothing to do with the game, when in fact the video is one of a series of commercials for the video game Halo:Reach. It looks like someone removed the audio from the advertisement and replaced with that NIN ripoff. I agree with you 100% that the actual song has nothing to do with the Halo video game series.
HALO - They need to pick up the pace. Their depiction of Master Chief kinda robs him of what made the legend. Now he's introverted and moody. Every now and then we see the Covenant but for the most part, its all about the inner turmoil of MC. This is not why I started watching. The animated HALO 4 part series was far better than what Paramount+ has given us. Won't be long before folks bail on this. Same goes for "Picard".
How many of the games have you played? Just curious. I enjoyed episode 3 more than episode 2. I'm approaching it like an alternate Halo universe. In The Fall of Reach, John remembers how he was taken from his family but the loss was just conditioned out of him by the Spartan program. In this version they wiped his memory and touching the forerunner technology has brought some of it back (with a purpose as we find out at the end of the episode.) They changed Cortana quite a bit but I am glad they are using the same voice actress. It's a little odd seeing Cortana being used as a control for Master Chief instead of his 100% ally. I expect the action will pick up as we get further into the series.
None.. I saw the 4 animated episodes and that was enough for me. Not sure if you've ever seen them but they are great. MC isn't some bewildered soldier wondering about his existence. Him and his squad went out and did what they had to do. Fall of Reach was one of my favorite episodes. Too bad they didn't get the same production crew to do the Stream version. I'll hang in there with HALO. Can't say the same about "Picard" though.
I'm definitely going to give this one a try. There has to be a good SciFI in my viewer portfolio or it feels short and The Expanse is ending.
I don't understand why the Sci-Fi's get cancelled so quickly. They have a lot of CGI and CGI has become a commodity at this point and a fairly cheap one at that. No expensive location shoots required. No star salaries required. Good SciFi should be all over the place in the entertainment market of 2022.
This week's episode was the best yet. Now if they can just get rid of the Korean girl's storyline we will be all set.
