http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/index?&lpos=globalnav&lid=gn_NFL_NFL on the right play Herm's ESPN motion... he truly is a friggen idiot. Have fun with him KC.
The KC team site is talking him up like he is so smart for having short practces and taking it easy on the big men.
You know who he reminds me of, when he speaks? GW Bush. Seriously. "...the defense lacked consistency, at times."
I can't believe he still takes that "Keep them fresh" mentality towards camp. Especially after last year. Well, not our problem anymore.
9 times in a 2 minute interview...HAHAHA! And this classic. " My players know I am telling them the truth. No gray areas."
**Exclusive Quote from Herm Edwards** "Obviously with the heat, obviously gatorade, nfl and the cheifs have an obvious partnership, you gotta obviously give 110% when you play the game because you're obviously out there to win. Obviously our players don't like long practices and its obviously well known throughout the league that I just throw a bunch of words together that obviously don't have much substance."
A week into camp and his concern is taking it easy. Herm isn't trying to be a coach,he trying to be everybodys best firend.
Substitute the word "Jets" for "Chiefs" (or New York for Kansas City) and it's the exact same B.S. that he has said for the past 5 years.
I don't think I heard "It's the will, men, not the skill", but otherwise it sounded like a carbon copy of his days with the Jets. I recently saw an article in the KC papers about how Herm wears a sweatshirt on the hottest days just to show he's not above the pain being suffered by the players. Talk about beating a dead horse! Did you ever notice that when Herm was the Jets' coach, you heard more about his own personal workout routine than any of his players'? I don't think Mangini will just drive the current team into the ground; what I think he's trying to communicate is that if you play smart and execute as instructed, the practices won't be any longer than advertised. But when you make mistakes, there's a price to be paid. The jettisoning of Mawae makes a lot more sense now than it ever did before. While I liked Kevin as a player, he would have already started a revolt and had the union knocking at Mangini's door.
Hehe, well, there goes that concept of 'tough practices' from Herm. I didn't think he'd show his cards so soon.
BWAHAHA, the first words to Herm were: "Coach, I know you run a 'safe' summer camp." WTF is this? Romper Room? Herm starts off by saying "Obviously the heat is good." Er, Herm, what exactly about the heat is good for 300 pound men to run around beating the snot out of each other? Or do you mean good for setting up an early break? "Obviously they have to wear pads eventually"? No shit Herm? Man, how could we let you get away? "Obviously we have to play together as a team." Herm, you are priceless. Hahaha, "If I were to ask players who didn't know you before you came here, what would they say about Coach Herm Edwards?" We can answer that for you! Dude, I'm just chillin here, relaxing with some of this delicious Kool Aid watching Coach chasing chickens around. HOLY SHIT! Did he really say he BELIEVES IN DISCIPLE? Herm, right before you said that you stated you wouldn't BS guys, that you would tell the truth! Hahaha, he said he is very efficient in what he is going to ask his players to do. Yup, that's right on the money Herm, you won't ask them to do shit. That's about as efficient as it gets! Oh Herm, if we suffer through another 4 win season, it will not be nearly as much fun without you around to share your great wisdom with us. Have a great time KC. We'll leave the leftover Kool Aid in the basement for you!
HOLY *#$%!!! I MISS HERM EDWARDS PRESS CONFERENCES!!! EDIT: This may just be me, but I've been laughing about this quote for the last ten minutes. Straight.
Yeah this was hillarious. I wonder if Herm realizes just how stupid he sounds when he allows words to exit his mouth?
