Bah gawd, Hackenberg revenge game in preseason week 4! (Assuming he lasts on the Eagles' roster beyond this week)
Yeah, that will make a usually worthless game, pretty entertaining! I doubt Wentz or Foles play in that game, so it will be Sudfeld and Hackenberg. Fun! Question: Who plays QB in that game for the Jets?
The Eagles have 5 QBs with this signing. This is the definition of training camp fodder; they're just trying to limit the number of throws Wentz makes and are reacting to Foles having neck spasms last week. If by some miracle he doesn't look totally clueless in camp they'll put him on the practice squad, and otherwise they'll release him. The garbage time fourth preseason game will probably determine which of the two it will be.
At least it never got to this: https://bleacherreport.com/articles...om&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
LMAO https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...bergs-first-two-eagles-passes-are-picked-off/ Christian Hackenberg’s first two Eagles passes are picked off Posted by Darin Gantt on August 14, 2018, 10:45 AM EDT Getty Images We should start with the disclaimer, that it’s easy to read too much into training camp play-by-play, and that without context of the drill in question and the personnel involved, it would be unfair to pile onto people. But still, Christian Hackenberg’s first practice as an Eagle is kind of a mess. Via Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Hackenberg’s first two passes of his first reps in practice were intercepted. The former Jets second-rounder was signed Sunday and talked to reporters yesterday, admitting it was going to be difficult to make the roster, but that being there was “better than sitting on the couch.” He has a point there. But he may be back on one soon.
Nah, not bad. Just resting Wentz and Foles I would say. Have a guy take some reps, play the 4th preseason game, and then cut him. Pretty simple.
I wonder if he'll make the practice squad. Do practice squad guys get rings if their team goes all the way?
The NFL kicks in for 150 SB rings so assuming the active roster and coaches account for half that total it would figure the practice squad guys would be in line for one.
Sure...go ahead and laugh. At least he's hitting players on the field instead of reporters on the sideline.
I really did believe in Hackenberg. The whole being a top rated recruit out of high school, being rated the #1 NCAA QB prospect after his Freshman year with Penn State, having experience under Bill O'Brien and "Tom Brady/NE's offense/playbook", being drafted during the 2nd round, cannon for an arm, 1st preseason drive resulting in a TD scoring one etc, etc. I really wanted him to work out but everyone was right. His accuracy just wasn't there. Hackenberg is the reason why I'm not a believer in Josh Allen. I'll never underestimate the power of accuracy percentage again.
