I'm not sure what the current rule is but I know as of like 2020 if a player does not report within 30 days of the opening game of the season then they lose an accrued season that would go toward FA.
between the 50K a day and the 250K bonus he missed out on already, hes looking at missing out on $1mill. Hard to understand why he would want to do that. The Jets aren't going to pay him for what he did for Philadelphia. He's got a decent number actually coming to him in 2024 and then he's free. Just cash that check, play your ass off and hit free agency with momentum.
Is it really lost, or can it get the penalties waived or forgotten in the process of negotiating the new contract?
Imagine trading for someone, just to have this kind of headache. I don’t even care If he’s on the team at this point. I get it’s a business but he’s obviously being petty.
Of course the Jets shouldn't actually do this, but you know Belichick would be texting Reddick a picture of his Carolina Panthers days right about now.
IDK how true this reported insight is--it claims McDonald is sliding down the depth chart. https://thejetpress.com/posts/will-mcdonald-sliding-ny-jets-depth-chart-slow-start-01j40ejw6a3m If this does happen, its another shitpiece in JD's cap as he could have, and by value-based reasoning should have, selected Jaxon at this spot. Obviously there would be no discussion about Corley had he done that and this years 3rd could have been used differently. In addition, a GM who selects Jaxon there maybe is more motivated to keep Huff around and we don't have the Reddick issue either. There are lots of consequences for bad drafting and this particular case could be very meaningful.
I'm surprised to hear that McDonald is supposedly sliding down the depth chart after having some really good moments in training camp so far. Fans seem to want him to fail, just because they wanted oline last year. It's wild.
People are very quick to jump on anything that portrays him in a negative light. I've heard nothing but positives during TC, then an article like this seemingly comes out of nowhere.
That has nothing to do with fans wanting him to fail--its that writers job to bring information to the public--maybe he's clickbaiting true--but that has nothing to do with theganggreen messageboard fans wanting him to fail--you are actually putting out more misinformation than that writer IMO. Maybe I'm sensitive to this because the last 2 years of the ZW saga were so torturous and one of the things being thrown out there is that the fans wanted him to fail and thats bs. Everyone on this board wants every player to play great. There is no evidence otherwise. Maybe people like myself saw that ZW sucked and wanted to cut the damage but if he suddenly played well I'd be as happy as anyone--theres no-one on this board wanting McD to fail--not a single person.
Another wanna be insider looking for clicks. Most of these overinflated sport writers are looking for any edge to write on. Mostly completely unsubstantiated. Ignore is the best medicine. Play on the field is all that has value.
Todays ourlads depth chart shows McD behind Clemons at RDE--I dont know if this is a change or has been consistent from last month. https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/NYJ
McD played the fewest snaps of any first-rounder last year, and I'm not hearing anything about noticeable improvements. Having said that, I desperately want McD to be awesome! So where do I fit in here?
I’m a big believer the depth chart right now except for the obvious starters is absolutely first cut to get the training going and will change substantially by the beginning of the season. Ie WR,RB,TE, edge, IOL you name it.
