1) Kendrick Ellis--very, very hard not to get overly excited about this guy. Basically tied up the game at 13 because of him. The middle of the field was non-existent for the Texans as long as I was watching. 2) Ropati Pitoitua--Honestly, I'm very excited about him. He was, tonight, what we all thought he could be after Hard Knocks. Be shocked if he doesn't have an impact during the season. 3) Kyle Wilson--Did not hear his name tonight. A good thing. As a unit...the d-line did a great job. I'm happy with the job they did. And, with the exception of the late Texans TD, the secondary did a slightly above average job. I think by the 4th preseason game, that will be the most gelled unit on the field. Overall, I think the defense had a pretty good game.
Josh Mauga should be #1 on this list... A sack, an interception, and he was making plays from sideline to sideline. Our young defensive line has the potential to be very, very scary for a long time.
Forgot about Mauga. Sorry. Yes, he looked good. I liked the way the defense played. I heard the 2nd quarter on the radio, and saw the 2nd half on TV. I did miss a little.
The few plays I keyed on Dixon he looked pretty good. Ellis looked like he is too good for #2 offensive lineman that is for sure. After 1 preseason game that is pretty fucking exciting. Mauga played a hell of a game. Edit: I didn't put them in order.
yes. He was a guy I noticed. Honestly, couldn't remember his name, but I remember seeing number 39 buzzing around a lot out there.
#39 is Ellis Lankster I think you're thinking of Byron Landor and he didn't really stand out tonight.
Asleep at the wheel. Mistake on my part. LOL. Hey I covered the offensive side, I figured a poster on GG smarter than me would have covered the defense.
Not really. I had a 24 oz. Genesee on my way home and a beer and some wings at halftime. That was it. I only watched the 2nd half. I followed most of the first half on my phone via espn gamecast, and heard the last 3 minutes of the 2nd quarter on 1050.
I know this is about rookies, but no pass attempts against out starting CB's in the first quarter. Every pass was a check down after the recovers were covered. Expect Cro to step it up this year. And that other guy, #24.
