I was wondering what you guys think about drafting this guy in the second round.. let me know if im way off ... :) i am hungry for a TE in this draft , since i feel like Penny throws alot of short dump off passes and think we could use a nice receiving TE ... let me know what you guys think and what his strength and weaknesses are , as i dont know an incredible amount about him.

i personally dont believe he is going off the board in the first round .. but i know some people might not think he will be there in the second round

If we address RB, OG, DL, CB, and WR before the #37 pick, then sure

As of now, it doesn't look like he'll fall the Jets second rounder and that's probably a good thing.

Greg running a 4.4 forty made him a solid late first rounder

No, no and no. No Tight End anywhere in the draft.

Hopefully he'll be gone early and we can't even CONSIDER him or any other TE.

there are NO tight ends this year worthy (for us) of being taken in the first0third rounds.

your crazy. olsen is definitely worth being taken. the guy is like a HUGE WR you just cant cover. he eats up the LB's attention and will be in the back of any DC's head.

im not saying we should take him, but hes a player who will (barring injury) be productive as long as hes put on the field.

Hes very fast as well and is now rated #1 TE. I really think that TE is way down our needs list though , but if he was there it would be hard to ignore him.
I'm curious because many mocks have us taking him or Zach Miller, mainly because having a sure handed TE would fit into Pennys game. Look what happened when Mangini was in NE , 2 X 1st round TEs.

Johnny Mitchell-Kyle Brady- Anthony Becht... Plus Chris Baker is a good player.

I don't want to screw with that history anyway....

^^^so, your saying just because we had recent busts at a position that we shouldn't draft that player....

that's like saying the Chargers should've passed on Phillip Rivers because of Ryan Leaf

or that the Bengals should've passed up carson palmer because of Akili Smith

    ?????

    No...

We have drafted 3 lousy first round TEs in the past 15 years and plus we have a good one.

Didn't you already say you didn't want a TE anway a few posts ago?

And San Diego would have been more discouraged to take a QB if they selected a Ryan Leaf AND 2 other bad QBs in the 5 years before that.

    1. Those three have NOTHING to do with how Olsen will turn out.

    2. Two good tight ends never hurt anyone.

My guess is he's arguing the retard logic that because past Jets first round TEs have sucked means that any first round TE we EVER DRAFT will suck.

Just a guess though. I think the same thing, and I still don't want a first round TE.

If he is there, the JETS need to take him unless there is someone on the defensive side that falls onto their lap.

Please, Jets, do NOT draft Greg Olsen. I don't want to hear everyone bitching and moaning when he sucks as much as Doug Jolley.
