What do you guys think about signing Greg Hardy to a 1 year prove it deal? Considering we have room for 1 more signing I think it would be a good move to sign Hardy for depth helping us keep our line fresh and in-case of possible injury. I just think it's good value you won't usually be able to sign a player of his caliber at such a discount so I think it's worth a shot.
No effing way. we already signed that scumbag vick last season. I want to be able to root for the team again now. we can be support criminals on a consistent basis like that. what that dude did is not justifiable. i wouldnt take him if it meant a gauranteed 10 superbowls.
Honestly I don't care what the guy did outside of football all that matters is what he will do on the field. At the end of the day you have to remember that this is a business and if you think you can improve your football product, you do it. No nice guy or Mr. Morals.
I suggest you quit being a Jets fan if this is your approach. Brandon Marshall has been arrested before for domestic violence and driving under the influence.
Marshall is a self admitted nutcase so I think you can give him a pass. Even though his support for mental health issues is annoying. I basically don't believe anything he says other than the fact that he's crazy. I can live with this guy but I'd hate to draft a scumbag like Winston.
He is NOT a nut case. Sheesh. Being Bipolar is no picnic. Bipolarism is a disease, and something with which the people who are afflicted with it have to struggle. I suggest you check out this link: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Bipolarism
If former DEs Coples and Pace can make the transition then Hardy can do it EASILY as he is a far better athlete than those 2. At Ole Miss he played some wide receiver and played on the basketball team. At the 2010 Combine he came in much bigger than his collegiate weight and a somewhat slow 40 but very fluid in the LB drills. The Panthers also moved him all around and had him dropped in coverage on occasion. So in short, he's never officially played OLB but he certainly has the ability.
He's a great pass rusher. Just read on twitter that he had 27 Sacks in his last 29 games. Edit.:AlbertBreer: Why would teams roll the dice with Greg Hardy? He's 26 years old, 27 sacks in his last 29 games. Guys like that aren't available much. ...
I would sign him. As long as he has gone through treatment or served whatever repercussions were handed down. Sometimes people redeem themselves on their second chance.
I was obsessed with drafting him back in the 2010 draft was for good reason. Can't believe he went in the 6th round. That's the definition of a steal. 03-06-2010 03-06-2010 03-13-2010 04-15-2010 04-15-2010 04-18-2010 08-26-2010
What makes you think he would sign a prove it deal? He had 15 sacks his last full year and he wasn't out with an injury. I doubt he is signing any kind of prove it deal, he will sign a decently large contract with significant guaranteed money.
A potential 6 game suspension perhaps? Don't think Dallas has the resources to offer a "decently large contract with significant guaranteed money" yet he is visiting them.
Yeah, I'd take him on a cheap, 1-year "prove it" deal. Hardy's case was dismissed. If Ben Roethlisberger was QB of the team, would people who can't root for "criminals" stop being Jet fans?
Yes, possibly but that is why he will get a decent contract rather than the larger contract he would have gotten had the domestic violence charges not come up. I certainly don't see him signing a cheap "prove it" deal since he has already proven it.
"prove it" more so in the sense of being able to stay out of trouble less so in the sense of proving himself as a player
