Robert Saleh: Jets won't tank away the rest of the season (nypost.com) Imagine, a 17-32 Championship roster. Doesn't happen very often does it. The team will not tank under any circumstances so we can celebrate at best, 8-9 as a great season and a spring board to the VLT. Losing never felt so good..
Eh sometimes you gotta understand that they need to be positive and uplifting so the guys who run out there and risk being brain dead every week are still motivated to play.
I get the feeling even the guys in the locker room know that's all bullshit. They're not as stupid as Saleh thinks the fanbase is.
I was thinking - is this the worst Jets offense you've ever seen? The D is decent but I am struggling to think of a more incapable and inept offense than the one we are currently fielding (a perfect storm of probably the worst OC in the NFL, a bottom 5 O-line and a bottom 5 QB group)
This is his thing. He says something containing bravado and then spends 4 quarters trying to swallow his own face
It may be a championship roster (it’s not, but let’s play along), but it is a peewee league front office and coaching staff
With Buddy Hackett and Rodger's other buddies, we're talking about some serious comic relief here. Interesting to see how the organization plans to grift the gullible side of the fan base next season.
Based on his previous outbursts of machismo like this, we will probably lose the last two games by a combined 67-12.
I bet they spend the three days between Sunday and Thursday talking themselves up like they just won the Super Bowl like they did after the Texans game. We know what happened in that next game.
The defense is decent, but the OL is absolutely terrible. If they plan on keeping Rodgers healthy next year, then they have better have a great draft and FA when it comes to improving the OL.
King Doofus Woodrow will probably beg the NFL to let them do Hard Knocks again - I mean, if you're gonna run it back, do the exact same thing. Let Can't Hackett run the same 4 plays to start the season, and let's see how the 5th play looks...
I’m sorry but what HC in his right mind would even respond to the question of tanking never mind agree to it. That has to be the dumbest question from the NY media yet. The proper response a la BB, is “next question” “ we are focusing on Cleveland and that is all we care bout. We should expect nothing else. This players risk plenty on every play. This is not wrestling.
JAX pulled off the perfect tank. They never admitted to tanking, just made under the radar moves to guarantee a less competitive team saw the field until the #1 pick was secured with a Jet win. and to finish with the ultimate troll job, thanked the Jets publicly for giving them the #1 overall pick. Gotta give credit where its due..
If there was ever a time for us to do it. That year would have been it. This year they are fighting to keep their jobs and the team together. But I will say this. This leadership was all set on Zach as the best option, don’t know why, and based on our current track record, we might have completely destroyed Trevor. Kudos to JAX for seeing the light after year one and firing the CS.
Jets only had 1 really low scoring year under Schotty and that was 2007 (when we were ranked 29th with 25 TDs on the year). They were abysmal under Gase when they were joint worst with 26td but this year we are last by ourselves by quite a dent margin and have so far scored a massive 19 tds (the next worst is the Giants with 23 TDs) - so they will need to score 6 touchdowns against the Browns and the Pats for this not to be the lowest number of TDs recorded (might of been a lower one way back when but the NFL is a different beast now. I do think this is the worst offense we have ever put out there.
