I know he's 30, but could help on the D-Line. He was a salary cap casualty, cut by the Seahawks. Thoughts?
POSTED 10:26 p.m. EST; UPDATED 10:39 p.m. EST, March 8, 2007 WISTROM DONE? The talk in league circles in the immediate wake of the release of defensive end Grant Wistrom by the Seahawks is that Wistrom is done. Physically, the belief is that he's shot. In fact, there are concerns that he would not be able to pass a physical. There also are concerns regarding whether Wistrom even has the desire to play. With that said, Wistrom started in all 18 regular-season and playoff games last season. Wistrom, a nine-year veteran, had 11.5 sacks in three seasons with the Seahawks. And he received $14 million in guaranteed money. Hey, in some cities, that's worth another $12 million up front. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
hes done. he had a sub par year last season by all accounts. he should hang it up...hes got a ring, and he had a pretty decent career.
Not even worth a look. He's a high-motor 4-3 guy, we need big space-eating/strong 3-4 guys. Even if he wasn't finished playing he wouldn't fit anywhere in this defense.
If he was very cheap he might be a viable option for our 4-3 pass rushing front. Bring him in when you bring in the nickel back and let him go at the QB. That said, I don't expect he would be much of an impact player for us and might not be worth the roster slot regardless of how cheap he was.
