Granted, - he was gone after the season already. I thought he was a good solid signing actually. Started 45 out of a possible 48 games & like the article says = in the 3 games he missed last year, we were 0-3. Seemed like a solid lockerroom team first guy. Taking into account the $$ we paid a left tackle, - I'd grade his play a solid B almost B+. I wasn't 100% opposed to bringing him back before the 2020 draft. Good luck Kelvin. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/29482510/cardinals-sign-lineman-kelvin-beachum-one-year-deal
It says a lot that the Jets had ZERO interest in bringing back their best offensive lineman from 2019. It truly was a terrible unit. I thought Beachum was a good teammate and a decent left tackle. Definitely not great or anything, and could be and likely was, upgraded with Becton.
I'm interested to see the contract deets. I thought he would be great to have for "Becton YR1" but not worth overpaying.
He took a few veiled shots at gase during the post season and he really wasn’t a fit in the offense. Good pass pro, couldn’t run behind him.
Exactly. Definitely didn't move people but he was a stable offensive lineman for us on the worst offensive line we've had since I've been watching the Jets. He's a good cheap stop gap for the Cardinals until they build that line a little bit better. Seems kinda weird that they're sort of rolling with mostly the same unit as last year when it was pretty dreadful in pass protection but what do I know.
He just made some comments about some playing calling during a play off game. I don’t remember the specifics
I would have liked to have brought him back as a backup, but didn't figure it would happen. I figured he'd hold out for a shot at a starting job somewhere.
He was serviceable on a less-than-serviceable line but I’ll probably struggle to remember him in 5 years time. “Goodbye Kelvin Beachum” sounds like one of Elton John’s less well remembered B-sides.
