Nice stuff. It was interesting hearing Steve Sabol admit that he did a hatchet job in the Super Bowl III film - I didn't know it was that deliberate, but from the first time I saw it, it was obvious that it had a pro-NFL bias, and his description of the pumping up of the meaningless late drive by the Colts was spot on in how ridiculous it was. It was also interesting to see two different players try to knock Maynard's off on pass plays. I'm certainly with what Curt Gowdy said Len Dawson said - you were either an AFL man or an NFL man. I was most definitely the former, for all of the reasons they talked about in the film.
Jets won in convincing fashion but the video distorts that one last chance for the master he wasn’t throwing a 10 pt touchdown at the end
I've always liked the style of NFL Films, but they weren't documentary makers and they weren't journalists. A lot of their stuff was slanted and there was one film where they got a coach to act out a rant again because they missed it the first time around. Hey, if you missed it, you missed it.
One minor regret of mine was turning down a job offer from NFL Films. I didn't want to commute to Jersey...
Reminds me of when my son got his job with the Rangers, my dream job, I asked him if I could fill in on his days off
