Take your arrogant assinine attitude, and go to some other fool's team and be a backup. Your a fraud. You're stealing money, because you've hardly played since you signed your mega deal, and you've taken this franchise NOWHERE. Not seeing this fragile EGG throw creampuffs and ducks anymore will make me a happy camper. I want a QB who can THROW, not some manufactured good guy, who was hailed as the second coming of Joe Montana. GIVE ME A FREAKIN BREAK ALREADY and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

Yeah, Chad's a good guy. If I was asked to take a 90% paycut I wouldn't either. It's not his fault the Jets overpaid him. Why would you give back so much money? Giving back 90% would make him the greatest guy in the world; not giving it back just makes him normal. He certainly isn't a jerk for keeping all that money, that's for sure.

OK, fair enough, but its obvious and he should realize that he's not going to be the QB everyone thought he was, and he should also realize that he'll be a backup wherever he goes, because thats about all he's worth now. Why not be that backup here, and do whats good for the team. He going to get his money anyway. He's kidding himself if he thinks he's going to another team as an elite QB. This kid isn't going to able to throw a rock until mid to late summer, let alone a football!

I don't think he is arrogant, he is just smarter. He's smarter than alot of the reporters that ask him assinine questions and makes them look stupid when they do.

Yeah real stupid, just like the idea that Chad is going to come back strong and lead us to a Super Bowl. Its time to move on!

Wow, I understand your frustration. We just need to be patient. I think we would have been all been in shock if Pennington just walked into the front office and said, OK guys, where do I sign. 89% cut; no problem.

Don't get me wrong, the Jets have to do this, but there is a process. I think Chad knows the potential outcome of this, and so do the Jets.

For the Front Office to do nothing would have been irresponsible. These Jets FO guys are really mucking through the deep, deep, doo doo right now. It may get even deeper, before we can change our socks, too.

My gut feeling is both sides will come to an accord.

The Jets are more-a-less saying, "We are not taking the money we gave you away because we can't, but we can't keep going down this road we are on anymore, either."

Oh just stop it. Your just looking for a reason to dock the poor guy. We all know he's been trying as hard as hell to come back and helped out as much as he could last season, and yes, it was more than waving a towel around. Be damn grateful, because one day, your gonna run of of players to dock.

OK, but the bottom line is he's not an elite QB, and never will be. Cut ties now, eat what we have to eat, get someone else in here, and move on.

This is a ridiculous post, I would love to see you go and take a pay cut like that, they gave him this ridiculous contract, and now they have the right to ask him for a paycut but i can guarentee you that maybe 1% of NFL players would take this paycut

Much to the disgrace of society, employers in this area have been known to fire employees after they have been stricken with cancer or some other ailments just to save on Health Care escalation.

Dude, all they are doing is negotiating. Chad doesn't want 1M + 8M incentives, and he knows he's cut if he is hardline. He wants to meet somewhere closer to the middle.

And if he's cut he stil gets much more than the restructure goves him, for him the best thing to do is refuse restructuring, get cut, collect his check, then rehab and try out for another team

When he's healthy he's the best qb this team has had in 20 sumthin years. And the expected paycut i'm sure will be somewhere in between, not the 90% if he agrees. And other than some asshole atheletes,i'll bet he'd be one of the first to make a sacrifice for the better of his team.

I agree 100% Chad is a team player always has been and always will be.What if some of you (god forbid) suffered a serious injury in life leaving you unable to do your current job.Would you want to be treated the same way?

I'd take that paycut IF I already had $22million in the bank...

Chad really should take a look at exactly where his place is in the big picture. If he's not careful, the train will leave the station and he'll be on the platform reading his press clippings..

He's probably going to agree to the pay cut. He's going to see what kind of market there is for him (which is none- backup job plus veteran's minimum) and agree to remain with the Jets. He may have to compete for the role. Relax, guys.
