Good Morning Ganggreen members, Just wanted to let the crew here know that as of this morning is appears that AOL has chosen to shut down there Jets message boards. Shame to, because it was one of the most active Football boards in there system and one of the few places to go on AOL in the offseason to talk football with people who had a clue. Yet, AOL loss, if I lobbied well enough, should be G.G. gain. There was a group over there who have been talking Jets football for over 10 years. I was one of them till AOL decided to change to a shitty format about two years ago, and then found you guys and really grew to love this place. I hope you will all welcome the new members that should be coming our way over the next few days and make them feel to home. I assure you this group of hard core Jets fans will bring much to the table and make this an even better board if that is possible. I would also like to mention there are a few who are not Jets fans but fans of other AFC-East teams like the Pats and Fins. Some of them are royal pain in the asses, can you say Raider Joe. Yet a few like Tom, who I hope you will get to know, who is a Fins fan originally from NY, we have been trying to convert him for years, is a great poster who is first and foremost a Football fan. Guys like Tom bring much to the board and allow us an opinion and veiw that does not have any Green colored glasses. I left a message up on the AOl board last night for these new members when they join G.G. to introduce themselves and say hi to everyone. I hope you guys will make them feel as welcomed as I have over the last few years......
If they're as knowledgeable and hardcore as you say, they'll fall in nicely. Even the trolls bring something, even if it's simply an ability to serve as a giant punching bag.
Please make sure you get them acquainted with the Search feature on this site. I don't know what I'd do if I have to re-visit a newly created Cutler thread created by someone new just because they didn't know or see the all purpose Cutler thread already created.
If they are serious football fans, then they will all be made welcome. Bring as many as you can, looking forward to some new posters and some new ideas.

Man that brings back some memories. I used to be a member of an AOL Jets board shortly before joining here. The one thing I really liked about it was that they didn't allow trolls in at all. Trolls can be quite annoying, and it was real nice not having that element around. Plus - the board was not without criticism, dissenting opinions, and in-fighting just like any other board - but it was all Jets fans! I remember Slats being a member there as well. Hopefully I will remember some of the names when they come over!
Thanks FLTFLO for the intro. I have been on TGG for awhile now and there are some first class posters here. I sure hope the others will come over from AOL because we have bonded for years. We have had birth notices and when a member has gotten sick or injured or past away. It was tough to see we couldn't get on the boards anymore. This site has some great Jets fans and I look forward to sharing and reading Jets insight. Lets all get on board and get ready for the draft and I'm excited about our new coach.
