Hey guys, i dont post here alot actually just registered, but i had an idea and would like your guys opinions. Seattle's Fullback Mack Strong is a free agent i believe, and since we really dont have a lock on our FB spot i was thinking maybe we could sign him to clear the way for C.Martin and Houston, and on the way he could help/mentor B.J. Askew. Just an idea i had, he'll probably be looking for major $$$, but if not maybe we can make a run at him. Also im curious, do you guys think Askew can play HalfBack or is he strictly a fullback?
He's a running FB. He's not fast enough or ellusive enough to play RB, and hes not really big enough to be a great blocking FB
He's a very good fullback, top 3 in the NFL, was a pro-bowler last year, of course he's big enough to be a great blocking FB. If he's not big enough, he's still a great blocker anyway. Would be a great pickup, but probably out of our price range.
I was answering the question that the person who made this thread asked: Also im curious, do you guys think Askew can play HalfBack or is he strictly a fullback?"
if we wanted a great fullback we would have kept sowell askew has been being "mentored" by him since he was drafted completely unnecessary to get a fb
Short yardage HB but nothing more than that as far as being a running back. Mack Strong would be a great addition, especially with Schottenheimer coming from San Diego who has probably the best blocking FB in football. I'm not sure it's going to be an area upgraded this offseason, but in the future i'd like to see a FB who specializes in run blocking added.
Except last year Askew was quoted as wanting to be a half back and not a full back. I personally don't think he can do either really well, probably a wasted Bradway pick. We will see...
too much $ on a luxury positioin right now. with the way the Jets have approached the O-line through FA i am sort of hoping they don't pay attention to this kind of stuff.
