I had heard a few months back that CBS was increasing the number of NFL sunday games being broadcast on Sundays to 5 or 6. I've now seen proof on CBS' website: http://www.sportsline.com/cbssports/schedules/page/nfl Looks like they will be broadcasting 5 games in HD per week. This means all but a game or two will be in HD. That looks good for big market teams like the Jets. I am looking forward to watching all 16 games on my 50" plasma! DbJ
I get the local CBS 2 in HD, wouldn't that be all the Jet games? FOX too, for that matter. So far I've had the pre-season games all in HD on the locals.
there's nothing worse than tuning in to watch the jets and the game is not in hd. here's a link to know before the game so u don't throw a rock at the tv in disgust when u turn it on. they only have the first 2 weeks posted. http://www.sportsline.com/cbssports/schedules/page/nfl
The game must be broadcast in HD by the network (not the local affiliate). We got our HD system about midway through the season last year and only about two-thirds of the Jet games were in HD. Last season CBS was only broadcasting 3 games per week in HD. Fox was doing 5 or 6.
Where can I get HD rabbit ears for my B&W TV? The blob of tin foil on top of each ear just aint working. Is it true that watching Lez porn in HD just aint right?
Good to know, thanks. I just hooked mine up a few weeks ago. I have NFL Sunday Ticket, was thinking of upgrading to the "Superfan" so I could get all the HD games, but I don't know if it will be worth it. I go to all the home games for one thing, and I didn't know how many games they show in HD. I bought the baseball one for $40 and they only show a game or two a night in HD, the Dodgers only once or twice. Football is $100 more and I figure to not be home for half of it.
If I'm not mistaken, thanks to the scumbag Dolans I can't get the Knicks or Devils in HD because I'm not a Cablevision subscriber, I have DirecTV. Is that correct?
At this time you would be correct. Local Sports Networks as follows with Directv Yes - Yankees both Home and away in HD - Nets last year was only select games in HD SNY - Mets Home in HD, Away SD - Jets Pregame/Post Game in HD as is Jets Nation Fox Sports NY and MSG - Everything in SD
I don't think I've been getting all the Yankees and Mets games in HD, unless I just don't know where to look. I've gotten a few, not all.
While I understand where you are coming from, in my opinion you really need the "Superfan" package (only 2-3 games per week will be non-HD). The main reason is that standard definition broadcasts on an HD TV look worse than they do on a regular TV. This is especially true for football. Next time there is a pre-season game on, watch the HD broadcast, then flip to the SD broadcast. If you can tolerate the difference, then you don't need "Superfan". One thing you can do to help somewhat is to set the aspect ratio on your DirecTV receiver to "Auto". When you watch SD games in the proper aspect ratio it is a little better to watch. DbJ
You're probably right, for $100 I'll probably do it. I certainly notice the difference. Last night I was watching the Dodger game in SD and flipping to Angels-Mariners only because it was HD, it was very noticable when I switched back to the Dodger game. If you don't flip back and forth to an HD game it's not so bad, but if you do it's real noticable.
Do you have the 5lnb dish? There are Two YES 622 and 622HD and SNY 625 and 625HD .You also have to make sure your receiver is set to receive all the 5lnb channels. Also the games are sometimes on 94 or 95. You will need to get the 5LNB dish to get all the new HD channels in the next few weeks.
The guy just came out a few weeks ago and put a brand new dish on my house, so I'm assuming I have the latest one. He told me there would be more HD channels in September, but that's all I know about it. I'll have to look for the extra 622 and 625, I haven't checked there. Right next to the other ones in the guide, I assume? I had only been looking from channels 70-99 and in the baseball package at 731-732.
Getting a 47" 1080p LCD set this Friday, just in time for baseball postseason and football season (I got a 22" LCD set for the bedroom a few weeks ago - even at 720p the difference in watching sports is amazing). Only problem is that the computer is in the office and the TV will be in the basement, so I will no longer be able to be in the game threads while watching!
