Thought this was a good article that explains the procedures manning went through and the risk involved. A couple of things jump out. - I have heard a lot of people say one hit and it could be over for him. not true he is at no additional risk of injury due to the surgery. - The number of surgeries is alarming to people but the reason he had so many surgeries was because he was trying to relieve pressure on the nerve when that didn't work he had the fusion surgery. - If he can throw well now he will only get stronger with time. To me all this seems to make bringing Manning in less risky than it originally sounds
Very good article. Most people say they don't want him because of the injury, but I think it has more to do with his age. I think if he was 30 just about every single team would try to get him. It's just that he's older and he's a short term solution, then you add the injury to it, it's kinda risky. But like I said, if he's 27 or 30 or even 32 or 33, I bet most teams and fans would want him, including most Jet fans that say they don't right now. Obviously that's not the case, but just making a point.
