I am just a little confused on why Mangini does not give him more playing time. At this point our pass rush has waned a bit. I think he can spark this defense. He is great on special teams, was solid in the preseason yet he can't get any signifigant playing time. I am not about to give up on Gholston but that doesn't mean Murrell can't get a shot. He can't do any worse.
He sucks as bad as abzymul on this forum. He's that special guy who just needs to keep his jersy touching the bench and only coming in on play time when someone breaks a leg and theres no alternative.
I don't know who you are or what your beef is with Abzymul, but you might wanna chill on the attacks.
I haven't seen enough of Murrell to sayhe can't do it...I agree, let's try somebody new, these ass clowns are not getting it done. Jenkins is doing his job drawing the double team, somebody's gotta bring rush with some ferocity. Always a fan of former Jets and family (look around the league, the genes are pretty good). Barber, Gaffney, Klecko...only the III is a superstar, but all these guys are valued contributors to their teams. Must be the combination of bloodlines and listening to their fathers stories of frustration.
The JETS did face two teams in, Tennessee and Denver, that have allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL. Give whoever on the team a shot to rush the passer as long as they get the QB on the ground.
Murrell opposite Pace on the outside....Gives the Jets' there best pass-rushing combo of OLB's. Murrell applied pressure all pre-season when he was in games. Why he doesn't get a chance on at least 3rd downs = the same reason the Jets' threw on 3rd & 1 & 4th & 1 against the Broncos & failed both times.......go figure. Also...Dude, keep letting Abysmal have it....he's a DWARF....:metal:
all the attacks on you byz, and all you care about is the fact nobody spelled your name right? Good for you.
With Harris coming back I don't really see a need to get Murrell in there. But if the pass rush continues to suck despite Harris' return, sure, give him a shot.
"So Calvin Pace didn?t exactly give a clich? answer when asked about the significant drop recently in sacks, both for him and the team. ?We have been playing a little bit more coverage,? Pace said. ?I know I have (been playing) more coverage than rushing. Obviously that is not my decision that is more game plan. I guess sometimes that happens, but based on how they see us matching up and how they want to scheme things. We were winning with it. Ideally, me personally, I like to rush a little bit more, but it?s not a problem. Whatever is called I am willing to do, but I envision the numbers picking back up. It?s not that we are getting blocked up we have just been covering a little bit more.? From Bolands Blog I don't know if Murrell will be able to get sacks if he is used in coverage either. I did like the kid in preseason. Would like to see him in some situations pass rushing situations. Gholston has to get some reps though. What's with all the picking on Abyzmul? Is it some sort of Holiday?
