Giants join the hunt to try to find the next Antonio Gates.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (May 1, 2006) -- Jai Lewis, who helped George Mason's basketball team reach the Final Four, has signed as a free agent with the New York Giants.

Lewis, who is listed at 6-foot-7, 275 pounds, is projected by NFL scouts as a defensive lineman or tight end. He played defensive tackle, tight end and fullback in high school.

Lewis scored 20 points in George Mason's 86-84 upset win over Connecticut in the regional final.

He should be an interesting player to watch. He has the size and mobility and has played football.
