Mets come back home after continuing their mastery of teams not named the Braves (.725 winning percentage against everyone else). Early report is that Barry will not play on Tuesday. It's very strange to me to not have a ballgame to watch on Memorial Day.
I'm giving some serious thought to going to the game on wednesday, just to be part of the "BONDSfold" crowd. Anyone else going to any of the games?
Yeah, it sort of sucks not having a Mets game tomorrow. I might watch some of the Braves-Brewers and the Diamondbacks-Phillies games. Good game tonight- Indians at Tigers. The Cleveland and Detroit NBA outfits are also going at it tonight if anyone's into that.
Tuesday: Tim Lincecum (2-0; 3.08) vs. Oliver Perez (6-3; 2.54) Wednesday: Barry Zito (4-5; 4.70) vs. Tom Glavine (5-2; 3.39) Thursday: Matt Cain (2-4; 3.23) vs. Orlando Hern?ndez (2-1; 2.13) Fantastic pitching matchup on Tuesday, and knowing our history with rookies it will likely be a 3-2 type of game. On Wednesday, let's make Zito pay for not coming to New York... oh and thank him too. Let's go Mets! Should be an easy 2 out of 3... should be fun plunking Barry.
I absoluetely love tomorrow's matchup as well. I really want to see this Lincecum kid in action and over the past few weeks, I've loved watching Perez pitch more and more every day. I can't wait.
The thread should be "Chris Russo vs. Mets" This should be a good tune in for Mets fans the next 3 days on the FAN...Dog is slobbering all over this Linnecum kid as if he'll win the Cy Young...
I suppose you heard what I saw. The Brewers had runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out. Corey Hart hit a deep fly ball to right field and then the next batter got a hit. Nobody came around to score. Braves 1, Brewers 0 right now.
These pitching matchups worry me. Lincecum has been great other than his first start in the majors. Zito has been better of late, and Cain has pitched much better than his 2-4 record indicates. This series will be a good test for the Mets O against 3 good pitchers.
It was around this time last year where we went on awesome winning streak...it was a west coast road trip, and I think we were 9-1. It'd be reassuring to a similar tear this year.
Zito has a 6.65 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over his last four starts, so he's not pitching better at all. Lincecum and Cain have been pitching pretty well, however.
WEEEE! bases loaded, nobody out, strike out, pop out, and a hard hit one that's caught. no runs across. still 2-1 old milwaukee, and we go into the atlanta pen. let's go new milwaukee!
Best 3B prospect in baseball. Check out his stats from from 34 games in AAA: .342 avg 28 runs 12 doubles 10 HRs 22 RBI 4 SBs .418 OBP .701 SLG 1.119 OPS Projects as a legit 20-20 guy in the remainder of the year in the majors. If you are playing fantasy baseball and need help at 3B go pick this guy up. Seriously.
That's great. However if the Brewers feel the need to immediately place him in the heart of their lineup they may be worse then I thought.
