For all the shit Gholston gets, he has the same stats of thomas if you normalize for games started. In addition, Gholston seems to hold his position well (maybe why our defense was great the first 3 weeks and didnt allow big running plays) while Thomas is always out of position and doesnt do anything on top of it. Also, why is coleman on welker?
Disagree big time. Thomas is pretty solid in run support, and it could be said he's slightly better rushing the passer HAVING COLLECTED A SACK IN HIS CAREER. Gholston appears to be good at absolutley nothing.
Don't really think your logic is correct but at this point I'd just throw Gholston in next to Pace to see if he can actually bring something to this team... after all what do we have to loose?
WHY WAS COLEMAN ON THE FIELD??.. anyone else shit a brick when moss caught the ball and then you see a green number 30 trailing behind him??.. wtf were they doing.. but yeah coleman looked awful today.. anyway.. back to ghost.. hes an athletic freak that doesn't feel like playing football.. the difference is that we didnt spend a 4th overall pick on Thomas.. bottom line is that ghost is under-performing.. hence he gets shit..
Gholston was double teamed alot, and still was pushing the pocket, he seems to be more of a thumper linebacker than a speed guy, I think Gholston has been missing as well and thomas has looked brutal and Pace has looked fast but never in time, I think Pace and Thomas are similar players and we need Gholston on the other side
exactly.. i say fuck it.. im with you.. play ghost .. we cant make playoffs now.. unless the jags completely fall apart.. they arent going to finish worse than 8-8.. and best case scenario.. jets go 8-8.. so there goes that spot.. and as bad as the steelers play.. they have a slightly soft schedule finishing it.. and i doubt they are going to finish below .500... throw in all the rookies.. and give them the experience they need..
thomas stinks pure and simple--next to Drob no jets player has ever milked more money from the team for a longer period for so little production.
Yeah maybe Rex should just label this year a rebuilding year, throw in Gholston and Westerman on every play. Maybe they'll both develop into players and as a bonus we'd have a top 10 pick to get a safety to replace Rhodes or Mount Cody.
As good as our defense has been at times, I've lost a lot of faith in every one of our starting front 7 besides Harris and maybe Ellis. I'd really like to see Gholston play but at this point I don't think it will make a difference.
Disagree but Thomas has already peaked. Gholston, if actually healthy, should be playing 60%+ of the snaps for the rest of the season. Then at least the FO will at least know for sure whether to fish or cut bait with this science project.
Pouha is starting at NT and he's been ok, but he's still a backup caliber player. DeVito has definitely stepped up though.
How many plays did Westerman get today? I saw him get a hit on Brady, and if he was only in for 1 play, then Gholston's ineptitude is very alarming, if it wasn't already.
