No QB in the top ten Parcells takes Chris Long, no trade available. Stl. takes Dorsey, Atl takes McFadden, Oak takes Sedric Ellis, Kc takes Jake Long. We take Gholdston and the defense moves into the top ten
Given that board, I wouldn't be upset at all with Gholston, he's gonna be a beast pass rusher in the NFL.
I don't think he is going to fall past OAK. Not saying your wrong but what is your reasoning for OAK taking Ellis over Gholston?
i think parcells might take gholston.....he drafted LT back with the giants...demarcus ware and anthony spencer with the cowboys....he loves those OLB's but at the same time, he might not be a great for the dolphins...i would be so pumped if we drafted Gholston...he is who i want!!!! mangini make it happen
The #6 pick is really a high price for another ILB especially with Harris here. We need that pass rushing force on this team
Vernon Gholston is a junior and may not declair, plus I am not sure I would take him at #6. There are a lot of guys worth looking at; I named quite a few others in another post. Here's one - Gosder Cherilus Height / Weight: 6-7 / 319 - as an OT this guy looks like a real road grater. Limas Sweed WR Texas 6' 5" 219 with 4.5 speed - another guy definitely worth looking into; he has a fractured right wrist and left elbow which will keep him out fo the combines, but up until injured a lot of people had him rated very high. I have looked at clips of this guy and they are impressive. He could very easily fall to the mid-second round. Tyson Jackson DE, Ht/Wt: 6-5, 292 - the guy is highly rated; maybe not #6 talent, but he could be available in the second round. Adarius Bowman Oklahoma State WR 6'4" 220 lbs with 4.5 speed; again here is a guy that could be around in the second round; I really think the Jets could benefit by a big, fast, WR. Here's a WR we should have on radar. DeSean Jackson College: California Height: 6-0 Weight: 178 Position: WR Pos2: KR Class/Draft Year: 40 Time: 4.32 40 Low: 4.27 40 The guy is fast as hell. The only gripe might be size. He is one of those guys that says he is 6'0", but really is probably 5'11".
half those guys u listed like limas sweed arent even top 5 or top 10 picks....there too much of a reach
1. Ellis is from USC and Al Davis likes taking guys from that area 2. IF McFadden becomes a Falcon which I dont see, then it leaves DE or DT a need and with Burggess and 2 young guys at the other DE, they need to look at DT with Sapp aging.
Gosder Cherilus would be solid but I think that we could trade down a few spots and still grab him in the middle of the first.
With all due respect, with the exception of DeSean Jackson those are all guys we should target with our second round pick
There is plenty of depth on the offensive line here. I don't know how this offseason will play out. If I were the Jets, I would attempt to clear up those line issues with young veterans(because inexperience has been a huge part of the problem) and draft playmakers. -X-
Rambo, with all due respect, guys like that are all a combine away from the first round or the second day. If any of those guys has an above average workout(particularly Bowman) their stock is going to soar. Recent examples who come to mind are Boller, Meachem, and to a lesser extent, Devery Henderson. -X-
